    How can anyone drink scotch?

    Guys, I'm a borderline alcoholic. Definitely not picky. I've been branching out and trying a lot more things late, but I've never been a scotch or gin fan.

    I can tolerate gin & tonic, but nothing with scotch... no scotch and water, no scotch on the rocks, nothing... I'll choke it down, but seriously... how does anyone drink this?

    Maybe, it is an acquired taste??? I can stand - a good Scotch - just drink the shot and be done with it. I agree the taste is funky.

    Get a bottle of Balvenie Caribbean Cask and it will change your mind on Scotch. $58-$69 bottle in most states.

    It is a tad sweeter and easier to drink. The best way to drink Scotch is over whiskey rocks instead of ice. Ice melts and waters down the Scotch. Most avid Scotch drinkers I know will drop one or two drops of water into 3 fingers of Scotch.

    keep in mind some posters like Big Day and Opie have several ghost accounts such as convick, vegas39, and a some more i can't think of.

    There is really not that many posters at the site... just a lot of different names. Sometimes multiple users using same name.

    but to answer OP's question i doubt actually enjoys the taste of any liqour u just drink it down so u can get fukked up and escape reality.

    Incorrect. There are a lot of liquors I can sip on. Tequila, Bourbon, Whiskey, even a decent Vodka. Scotch just does not go well with me, even nicer bottles. (I have a few older friends who are loaded and have given me expensive scotches, gins, etc).

    Oban? Not a big scotch drinker but good stuff. Same thing about 50-60 a bottle which can obviously get a bit expensive. Single malt from Scotland I believe.
