    PayPal charges 0.30 +2.9%!?!?!?!

    I'm getting $1 donatations, so that's 32.9%!!!

Anyway to get around these fees?!?!

Maybe through some random *********** service?

I want to give it all to charity... Is there a way that there are no fees?!?!

They only charge that amount for small payments like $1. The greater the amount, the less it is. Charges are usually around 3% to 4% for purchases.

If you can get people to send you money to "Family and Friends" there is no charge(within the US) When sending money as a gift to family or friends outside of the country, there is a small fee. I sent $50 to a friend in Spain last week and I only had to pay a 25 cent fee.

Just wanted to clear up a few Paypal rules...

    1. If a person is paying with their credit c or debit c for this $1.00 donation... the receiver will always pay the $0.30 transaction and the 2.9% surcharge fee. (It doesn't matter if it's $1.00 or $5,000... it's the same fee.)

    2. If a person has a Paypal balance and they use that balance to pay you that $1.00 donation. That is 100% free of charge.

I don't know why you're accepting donations? But maybe try a gofundme account? I don't know what the fees are for that... but that's all I know.

As long as the money is setup to be sent "To family and friends" or the person sends it that way.

If you Pay someone $1.00 even from your existing Paypal balance as a regular purchase, they will only get .67

Also, if the person sending the money(as a gift to family and friends) uses a C.C. they the one who pays the fee. My father's friend recently sent me $1,200 for something that he was buying from my dad and he had to pay just over $30 in fees to send it. I got the entire $1,200 with no fees taken out at all. So the more money that it is, the less the fees are as long as it is sent this way.

Just to verify this, I just sent my wife's paypal account 2 payments as a purchase from my existing Paypal balance.

One for a $1 and one for $10

    $1 she received .67

    $10 she received $9.41

My advice is to start taking a minimum of $10 donations.

I stream poker and people like to see an alert go on the page and it seems like "Twitch Alerts" only allows it in the way of donating through *********** instead of signing into PayPal and doing it.

I was going to hand out $5 pizzas to the homeless and maybe take a picture in the pizza joint with like 10 or 20 pizzas.

But if I can get some sort of reduction to where's its free I know I'll probably have to donate it to something more creditable like St. Judes, or Make A Wish or something like that.

cc processing costs money - if you're gonna accept cc for any reason then there will be fees.

Paypal's merchant account fees are in line, and cheaper in many cases, than other merchant accounts (or personal accounts that accept cc).

If someone is trying to accept donations there are many 100% free money transfer options to use with just a cursory web search...

or if you're actually trying to make it easy on the donor then use gofundme or other low fee sites that take care of everything at one site without having to login elsewhere or send an email etc.
