BALLERNATION Unite!!!!! Let's make some money again!!!
So last thread was kind of a success. Up units, but not as much as I would have liked. I definitely believe I am a very good capper with discipline. I'll post write-ups along with the picks. Tag along and we can make some cash! Not all plays for the day will be posted at the same time. I'll definitely be looking to get the best line possible.
Michigan State -2 -115 2u
Michigan State have played pretty decent ball on the road. They beat Iowa and lost to lost to Notre Dame by 1 point in OT. On a neutral court they only lost to Kansas by 5 and they did lose to ranked team in OT at home as well. Now Nebraska have not been impressive. They haven't played a ranked opponent and their only real impressive win is again Cincinnati early on in the season in OT. Overall I definitely think Michigan State cover this spread at least 60% of the time.
LSU have played very well on the road. They have beaten Florida, Mississippi and West Virginia. On the other hand, Vanderbilt haven't beaten anybody. They also just played a very physical team in Kentucky and I just don't see them covering here especially laying points.
Pistons have been playing very good ball as of late, especially on the road and are now playing a Bucks team for the last time that have beaten them twice so far this season. There are also no injuries on the Pistons side.
Wizards -2.5 -110 2u
The Wizards have been playing well and are now playing a depleted Trailblazers. Gortat and Nene should be able to do some work inside with no center around. Also Batum is doubtful, this doesn't look to promising for Portland.
So 1-3 -4.7 units. Not a good start at all. This is going to be a grind and this thread should last a while, but I will be in the positive. A few plays tonight, just one so far now.
Syracuse +10.5 -115 1u
Although North Carolina has been playing well, Syracuse have not been playing too bad. They are 14-6 (5-2 in conference play) and just behind the Tar heels. Syracuse lost to Clemson away by double digits, and a close one at home to Miami, perception probably isn't too high on them. However, Miami are a very good team and Syracuse has beaten Iowa and played Villanova and Michigan (when they were good) well. For a conference game, +10.5 seems like a good deal. Again, we're trying to hit at least 55% and I think Syracuse cover this at least at that percentage.
This number has gone down from 209 and for good reason. These teams combined average would be around the 203 mark. Last time these two played they didn't hit 205. As well, the refs stats seem to indicate the under here.
Magic +12.5 -110 1u
The Magic getting 12.5 here looks solid. Again, not a huge play, but the ref stats seem to indicate more towards favoring the away team.
3-1 last night +1.9. Now at YTD: 4-4 -2.8 units. Starting to make a comeback. Big card tonight so I hope we can get into the positive tonight. Not too many/long write-ups as I am playing a bunch of games.
Georgetown -4 -120 2u
Georgetown have been playing well as of late, and they are now playing a team they lost too who haven't faired to well on the road.
Nebraska +4 -110 1u
Michigan have played most opponents at home close. Not to mention I still feel they are a bit overrated and they are definitely more concerned with their upcoming rivalry matchup.
Georgia -5.5 -110 1u
Vanderbilt have played about four consecutive close/tough matchups, while Georgia has been taking care of business at home.
Toronto -3 -110 2u
Toronto have been playing a bit better, and they really should not lose to the Pacers who have not been playing too well. Toronto have a better away record to the Pacers home record and I see them trying to make another run to the top.
The Heat are without Deng tonight, who is tied as the top scorer, and one of the best defensive players the team has. The Bucks have been playing well and have a better road record to Miami's home record. Getting points, I'll take the Bucks.
YTD: 3-5 -7.8 units. It seems like all my top plays lose, while the opposite occurs for the smaller plays. Either way no worries yet, let's turn this ship around. A few plays so far, but more to come.
LSU -5 -120 1u
LSU have beaten top teams in their division consistently and are now playing at home against a bad team who are on a 3 game losing streak.
Indiana +3 -110 1u
Now playing against their in-state rivals. Indiana have been playing very well and are getting 3 points? Purdue have one a few at home, but only by a few points each time. The +3 is key here, as well as the public being close to divided on this game so far.
The Wizards have the same record away as the suns do at home. They have played good ball as of late and the Suns haven't. I also don't think the injuries justify the Wizards getting +6.5.
Atletico Madrid have played well this season and are 3rd in the league, one below Barca. They are now playing at home, 1 goal aggregate down. I see a tie or Madrid win here.
Damn guys, YTD: 4-11 -17.04 units. On the bright side, we've won four bets. On the other hand, we've mainly lost all 2 unit bets and almost everything else. Anyway, although a dark storm, this will pass. On to tonight, only three plays but I'm confident.
Bucks -4 -110 1u
The bucks have been playing well and covering spreads while the magic just have not. I don't see Ilyasova being that much of a loss here.
Maryland 1h +4 -110 1u
Maryland are one of the best teams in the country. Ohio State have been overrated all season, however they have been very dominant at home. In these games they usually tend to keep the first half close and then blowout their opponents. I feel here that if Maryland don't cover the 1h then there is no chance of them covering the game.
Washington State -2.5 -110 1u
A matchup of two very poor teams. Washington State won the last meeting away, and they have been the "better" bad team so I think they take this one.
I like the reasoning behind the Milwaukee pick but for some reason this game throws a red flag at me. Not sure why but my reasoning is with the Magic struggling lately the are sure to fire off a good game sooner or later, especially at home. I hate Harris coming off the bench, he plays much better with Vuc on the floor. Just a gut feeling here. GL
Klemo- Yea I had a feeling in the back of my mind that the magic were going to come play sooner or later, however I just figured the Bucks win in the long run.
Jay- Bad night again, unbelievable. I'm telling you though, things will turn. I missed Djoko, but there should be at least a play tonight.
The Hawks have been on a dominant run recently. I know their cover streak ended agains the Nets, but they still dominated that game. On the other hand the Trailblazers have performed decent, but they do not have Lopez and this Hawks team is too good to fade at the moment.
I know this seems like a sucker bet. The T-wolves were embarrassed when they went down for the 76ers first win of the season. The 76ers were highly motivated that game to not have the worst record in NBA history. The wolves lost to a motivated 76ers team without Pekovic or Martin. I think the wolves will be motivated here and at -2.5 this has to be played.
