These are the guys who come and go and more than likely have no clue what it really takes to achieve long term results. Dollars2Donuts knows what it takes. D2D, I followed and mostly tailed last year and this year. I've always enjoyed your thread and picks. This year it seems quite a few of the losses have come in games that are having reverse line movement. This year I have actually started going with your picks except if there is RLM I have gone with the moving line and not your pick. This has seen to do well and turned those losing days to some small winning days. The times your picks have gone with RLM I have doubled up and they have hit almost every time. Just an observation to think about when trying to find holes in our picks. I haven't tracked any numbers with it yet but something to think about. Thanks for posting.

I think there is a difference between physical and mental. With the mental aspect, I firmly believe taking time off helps. From whatever it may be.

I personally like taking the Devils and the UNDER in an outdoor game. Outdoors means less than perfect ice conditions which normally translates into a slower paced game and a defensive battle which lends itself to the Devils style of play. They also mentioned Lundqvist is testing out new pads today which means larger rebounds especially in the cold where they will be more solid and have more bounce.

Everyone has their own way of doing things, you don't have to be ok with his decision but why question it? I'm guessing most people who are opposed to D2D taking a break aren't able to cap games on their own therefore are lost without him. Do your own homework and get more satisfaction out of betting on sports games, if you can't do it on your own then give it up all together

Hey boys.

First off, I never said I was taking time off from capping. I said I was taking some time off from posting. I just needed a bit of a mental break.....and I spent the entire weekend with my girlfriend....and didn't want to have to think about posting picks.

And Dugger....if you think I take time away from being a sports fan....lol....doesn't happen. 41 year old fanatic here.

I will be back and posting plays again tomorrow.

gotcha. but there certainly is a specific level of detail that you pay attention to while handicapping above what a general fan does. taking a capping break IN GENERAL would mean you would fall out of touch about teams covering, games going over/under, player injuries,etc. just my opinion. i was just asking if other cappers here actually take breaks from capping, not entirely watching sports. just capping. you fall out of the loop i imagine. i do, at least. GL

Yesterday marked a very important milestone in D2D's recorded history at SBR. We went negative units. With the start at the last week of November netting a positive 35.58 units, I'm a bit shocked, as I'm sure all the D2D nation is.

Will D2D get out of this small hole easily? (that's my bet). Will D2D sink deeper into the hole? Will D2D struggle for a bit, then stand in Victory? Or will D2D take some time off or perhaps disappear forever?

As it is before a Batman commercial, its always interesting to see what will happen. (Course, Batman always gets out of his jam that looks impossible to escape)

D2D is positive on all sports expect NBA which is down -41.49. I wondered what would happen if the Seinfeld Effect was applied. Using excel 2013 (I'm really loving this suite so far), I did some light conditional statements and filtering to find out.

Results (NBA only):
As picked: 119-139-2 (-41.49)
Seinfeld Effect: 139-119-2 (+2.89).

Last time I ran the numbers a few weeks ago, both results was down units.

I was surprised as I was thinking if u was down so many units, doing the SE you would be that many units up. But do to Juice/Odds that's not the case.

This was just me using excel 2013. Results could be wrong. I just find it interesting to play around with such stats. I think this shows fading a handicapper even if they are struggling a bit, is NOT very profitable.

(ie. including only ML's and positive-handicaps)...

i'm just curious because ever since i dropped these frustration-loaded plays, i've certainly slept better...and suspect that on balance i've saved my account a few bills as well

Just a few games in the NHL tonight, nothing in the NBA. Tough to swallow that it was been as rough as it has this season.....and now I am doing what I tell everyone NOT to do.....I am overthinking....over-capping as it may be. This year I am analyzing line movement much more than ever, and frankly.....I am going to stop looking at any and all line movement sites. Last year I NEVER took line movement into account.

I will be taking at least a week off in the NBA while I do some work on my own.....the rest of my plays will be posted as usual. If nothing else this has been a humbling week....and last year was so huge for me, this is clearly tough to take.....but at the same time I will use it to learn. I want to celebrate my one year anniversary at SBR with this season in the positive.....that is my first goal. I also have to be cautious for the first time ever....my bankroll is....well, it isn't as healthy as it always has been. I blew off $1200 in the 5dimes casino a couple of weeks back (I don't recall winning a hand)....which is my first tilty action in AGES. As soon as I played the last hand I called them and asked them to disable the casino....lol. Lesson learned.

I have only made three deposits ever....my first at Bodog where I cashed out $7k and my first at 5dimes where I have taken out $12k so far....and my last was $1k at Pinnacle last spring, which hasn't been touched in months and is sitting at $2600. At this point I feel like I need to dial things back until my balance is as healthy as it should be....

Anyway, enough of my life story.....there you have it, I am depressed that my balance is not what I am used to....and here are tonight's game so far....I may add one NHL game later.

As to this comment directly, I believe that ML plays have been my worst plays so far....followed by totals and handicap plays....that is just a guess though. The whole NBA has been off for me since the week before Christmas....
