Talk me out of betting the Cubs tonight?

I can't believe I am actually considering betting these hamburgers, however I like Arrieta in this spot.

I can't remember the last time I actually bet these clowns in cleats?

I don't know, Nasher. I thought I bet the Brewers and Mets at good prices as home dogs today, and they crashed and burned. My head is telling me to take the night off after the public raping this afternoon.

If you go by his 2 starts with the Cubs you can bet him if you go with his whole history remember this guy has the 2nd highest ERA with starter having at least 350 innings since 2010. If you think the change of scenery changed his pitching then bet but only on that fact.

The nats can't hit and if they can't hit they can't win.

And they ain't starting Stras or Gio, or Zimmy, or even Haren.
They are starting a pitcher who hasn't started in a month, and hasn't touched a rawhide in 3 weeks.

he did but the dodgers have never seen him before. in his other games hes been solid. mattingly emptied his bullpen last night cause he knows greinke will be an ox tonight. i like a 4-1 type game

Yeah a lot of my sharper friends are on this 'under', their lean being Eovaldi is facing his former team, understands some of the LAD hitting tendencies and has something to prove to his former team. Greinke has been an absolute stud on the road recently, and has had great command of his off-speed pitches, his fastball has been elevated too in terms of MPH. Kind of wish I had put this on my list instead of last nights under with Turner on the mound, gl.

And nice Phantasm reference with that avatar heh.

Yeah I remember this Ohlen-clown when he pitched for the Padres last year in several spot starts and he was absolute fade material for the latter portion of the year, especially on the road. Interestingly enough he seems like he's been better in his spot starts this year. I agree however, its hard to back a Cubs team w/ juice that has lost 10 of its last 12 home games. Maybe the books know something here lol.

90% of this team wasnt even on the team when Eovaldi pitched for the Dodgers. Even the hitting coach is different so not sure which "hitting tendencies" you're referring to.

Arrieta has looked really good in his two starts. I know his past numbers were bad, but dude does have good stuff. Game is a crapshoot. GL

Bro he was on the team most of 2012, not much has changed significantly sans Puig and Crawford. This schmuck was also drafted by the Dodgers, I mean that's not going to mean he's going to blow by hitters, but I know this guy circled this start. I'm just avoiding totals in this series after last night, just my two-cents.

3 errors by this pathetic marlins team leads to dodgers 3 runs. evoildi pitching great just allowing 2 hits thru 4 innings but dodgers score 3 times because of the AA marlins defense

Every team will win 60 games, and every team will lose 60 games every season.
See where I am going here? This is one of the at least 60 wins for the Cubs tonight

Up the middle defense has to be factored in to your handicapping. C-2B-SS-CF
A good up the middle makes a decent ground ball pitcher good, and good one great.
A good up the middle defense can save a GB pitcher 3 hits a game.
All the super teams had superb up the middle defenses.

    1984 Tigers
    Trammel, Whitaker, Lemon, Parrish

Dan Petry does not win 18 games without them that year.
Milt Wilcox does not win 17

    Big Red Machine teams

    Bench
    Joe Morgan
    Concepcion
    Geronimo

1984 Tiger team was the best defense up the middle I ever saw.
I know of the Red teams from books and films

    Bad, bad, bad bet.
Second one I made this week.

    Nashy slumping.
It happens, I get that, but I have made two stupid wagers so far this week.

i have money on the nats

don't like historic past matchups, but arrieta has never had success vs the nats. ohlendorf has good pitching stats...

    surprised at the pregame lines
