Will Scherzer and Corbin REMAIN UNDEFEATED on Saturday????

    They gotta lose sometime right?

2 of the Reds best hitters Bruce and Votto are Left handed so that helps Corbin but he's due for an off game .. no?

and Mike Leake did play his college ball at Arizona State.. I'm sure the stadium will be packed with fine ass Arizona State chicks coming to see him pitch.

For the Reds sake they just need to keep Mike Leake out of the shopping malls so he doesn't steal anymore $20 T-shirts and get arrested before game time.

BTW just kidding about Arizona State girls being at the game. I went to ASU and they have the worst sports fans in Arizona I've ever seen. They honestly don't give a fukk about sports out there.

Basketball and Baseball games at ASU are played in empty stadiums. By far the worst sports fans in the country are in Arizona except for maybe Florida...

what is it with warm weather states having poor sports fans?

    False.

Sun Devil fans do a good job of supporting the baseball program.

With Basketball, you definitely have a point. Attendance is always poor unless they are playing UofA.

in florida i was referring to pro sports.

Rays, Marlins, Buccaneers, Jaguars... poor fan support.

New stadium has helped somewhat for the arizona cardinals. And yeah the stadium was not competely empty at ASU baseball games but you would think for a top program like that it would have an electric atmosphere and it did not.

overall i thought there was no school spirit. Not the kind of school spirit you would find in Big 10 or SEC country.

yeah and i guess it does not help that this game will be nationally telivised and every $50 joe will have money on the undefeated pitcher.

    The Book on Allen Webster

    Prospect Info and Scouting Report

    Allen Webster / RHP, BOS
    Born 2/10/1990 (23 yrs old)
    Madison, NC, USA
    School: McMichael HS (NC)
    Height 6-3
    Weight 185

    76 | 2/22/2013

    Experience Ranks

R A AA AAA MiLB MLB
    87 185 221 45 538 7
    Total professional innings pitched: 545.

An eighteenth round pick (!) of the Dodgers back in 2008, righthander Allen Webster has made the Dodger scouts look awfully clever since, as he's risen into the very top ranks of the system in the years since. A quality arm with good control but iffy command, Webster's primary weapon is a mid-90's fastball that can reach 98 with heavy sink, but he's no one-trick pony: his curve, change and slider are all potential plus pitches that show exceptional filth, even when he struggles to throw them consistently. If he can master at least one of those, hopefully the change, he'll be striking out major leaguers very very soon.

Splitting 2011 between the two cutest-named minor league cities in baseball, Webster followed up a 5-2 record and 1.24 WHIP in 9 starts at Rancho Cucamonga with a 6-3, 1.50 WHIP in 17 more at Chattanooga, his first test in AA ball. As a followup, after a hot start in 2012, Webster was generally considered the top pitching prospect (remaining) in the Dodger minors when he was traded to Boston in August. He's a good candidate to compete for a rotation spot in 2013's Spring Training, but a midseason or late-season callup would be a safer play.

Now confirmed: pitcher Allen Webster is a part of the prospect package traded to Boston in exchange for the massive payroll trifecta of Carl Crawford, Josh Beckett and Adrian Gonzalez. Now unsaddled by more than $240 million in commitments over the next five years, Boston suddenly looks like a team that could make serious offseason moves. It's definitely not boring in Beantown, at least.

wow whoever wrote that about him is pretty high on him. He sounds like he's got amazing potential. 98 mph fastball?

have you watched him pitch Nash?

do you like his chances against the Tigers?

It's real hard for kids to come back off a beating ...usually the first hard hit ball upsets them. Ill take Tigers on the run line here. 11 in a row

Kid is not stretched out, highest pitch count in minors was 101 this year, no command for this level, will struggle against left handed hitters, especially with command.

95 MPH 4 seamer not yet a plus pitch, 85 on change and slider. Change is still too visible, slider has been his best pitch. 74 MPH curveball with little command.

Kid might not go far here probably be looking at Andrew Miller by the fourth.

    Sox can hit Scherzer though.

This game may be decided by the pens and that ain't good for the Tigers of late. Waiting for lineups here to see if any value in this one.

That puts value right on the Sox +159 for the game and first five total over 5 +106
