Mora Afraid To Bench Vick Because He Is Black

City of Atlanta has lots of black power

    Schaub is 200% better

It is going to cost Mora his job

Congrats to Mora Sr. for saying Vick is a coach killer

Vick has a place in the NFL as an offensive player but not a QB

It's definatley time for a change in Atlanta. I do agree with Schaub being the better QB to run this offense. I'm just wondering if it's too late though for Atlanta this year is all.

They need to fire OC Knapp first, then there might be some hope (though unlikely with Vick's attitude and lack of ability to read a defense).

They should bring in Schaub at QB, and move Vick out to WR. So he can use his speed and moves in the open field. Maybe do some reverses with him. Mix it up. They are going nowhere with him at QB.

Vick will never be a great QB. All the arm strength and speed = CACA, forget the black vs white issue Mora needs to put on a pair and make the change. Otherwise he'll be standing next to Vick in the unemployment line.

Young in his first year is a 10 times better decision maker than Vick in his 7th (I think) year.

I've always been a Schaub guy as well, and certainly think he deserves a chance, but to be fair, Atlanta's receivers are pathetic, and as OWNED said, Knapp is pretty terrible.

I'm not sold on Schaub like the rest of you. Vick certainly is a detriment to the Falcons' offense at the QB position. He simply can not put things together and read a defense correctly. The fact that he can't control his emotions might be even worse when he's the one that is supposed to be leading the charge. He's fed up with his WRs and I just don't see how he's ever going to achieve the level of success that is expected of him in Atlanta. I hope they don't go on a run and make the playoffs, because I've seen enough of the Michael Vick experience.

Young looked good yesterday but too early to compare. Vince is a better passer though.

To the title of this thread.

It would be naive to think the color of his skin does NOT play a big role in Atlanta's decisions. Sad! But it was less than a month ago the Big National Sports Media had Vick as the 2nd coming of jesus christ. I didn't buy it! I loved N.O. yesterday.

I can't believe that another team has not made a run at Schaub and also that Schaub has not made a push to be a starting qb elsewhere.

It is hard to say how he would pan out but the potential is definitely there.

So you're saying that those black receivers won't drop all of those passes if the black QB is benched?

Willie Bee, you've made a common mistake there. You're trying to apply simple logic to a jjgold post.

Earlier today when I talked to Michael Irvin he told me Shaub was a very good running QB and that must be because he's got some african american in him somewhere

I hate to bring race into it... but the only black QB to win a super bowl was a pocket passer... So that means a black/mobile QB has never won a super bowl.

It isn't race related, but the best way to build a team is around a pocket passer... if he is a tiny bit mobile like Aaron Rodgers, great... but you don't want your QB running around getting hit. Over 16 games and 3 more playoff games, there is a 100% chance an extremely mobile QB will get hurt.

Just because no black team ever has had the team around him doesn't mean shit. Of course a run first QB, is going to be hard to win in this league, because its a passing league now. All the rules favor passing. But Vick is a great passer and has a great arm, to say race as anything to do with that is bull shit.

If Vick had a field goal kicker last year and a the packers defense. Does his team win the super bowl, certinaly looks that way to me. Akers missed an easy kick early on which changed the game dramatically.
Look at the last few super bowl winners, and put Vick of last year on their team as the starting QB. Do they win, I think basically 100 percent of the time , the answer is yes. Yes they would have.

whoa whoa, Eagles would have had to go through the Bears if they beat the Pack, and Vick has NEVER beat the Bears in his career (0-4 I believe) so assuming the Eagles go into Soldier Field and win is tough, mainly b/c I was at that game and it was around 9 degrees, snowing, and windy and I can't see Vick playing well in those conditions. My toes were frozen!
