Wouldn't a team with zero playoff wins be the worst? You're kind of making yourself look like a complete moron here...

Actually, take out the 'kind of'

The Reds haven't won a playoff game since 1995 so they'd have to be the worst if we're talking about the last decade. What time period could you possibly be referring to that would make the Cubs the worst?

And I also doubt that the Yankees would be the best. But you made a claim so lets see the proof.

Just silly to compare the two. Cubs spend when they see openings. Yankees spend when they breathe.
Any team can spend as much as they please man.....Yankees just dumped money to garbage old players in the early- mid 2000s but are moving away from that line of thinking ever since George died a few years ago

But either way, how inefficient can you be by winning 5 world series titles since 96??

Id much rather go all out and spend huge then spend big like the cubs and have absolutely nothing to show for it......Might as well have a 30 million a payroll at that point

We're comparing apples to oranges though.

I'd be willing to bet that competent FO's could win more since 2000 than the Yankees have with their ridiculous spending.

But it is a moot point. I'm glad the Yankees have an incompetent FO ... it prohibits the Yankees from successfully ruining baseball. Cheers.

The Cubs definitely have the worst ratio of World Series titles to average yearly payroll in the last 103 years.

Cute, but still, a team who has never won (Houston Astros) would have to win as long as they have spent a penny... which they have.

That's fine man....I'll take the 5 World Series championships.....All you can ask for in baseball is to get to the playoffs as much as possible. Anyone can win a best of 5, you know this.

Much better run than the false hope and ZERO titles from some of the other "big spenders" of the MLB (yes not 200 mill, but still much bigger than most other clubs)

Microcosm of the problem the Yankees will face in the playoffs.

2 runs today. 2 solo HR.

Hit them with runners on and play small ball to win it all. Ask the Cardinals.

If the Yankees just could spend 400 million, they could get some all around hitters and bullpen pitchers that don't blow donkey dick. They are just constrained by the current 250 million payroll

Dog shit Yankees shit on by 30 million dollar team

Maybe, the loss of Brett Gardner will hurt.....Yankees are what they are though, just gotta hope they can hit more often than not in the playoffs.

They did win a couple years ago with the same approach

    Best record in baseball.....

Red Sox 20 mill less this season and about as average as it gets

    Which is more efficient?
