    They have had an easy schedule, no doubt. Still, they are top four in the east. However, Behind the Bulls and Heat, the talent level in the East drops significantly

    Easily one of the top teams in basketball right now. They've played a soft schedule, but so have Chicago and Miami, and the Sixers have looked better than Miami so far- especially on defense. I'll probably give Chicago a slight edge over Philadelphia right now since they've both looked about equally as good but the Bulls have played a slighter tougher schedule.

    They can't choose who they play, they just play the schedule that is given to them. They are easily a top 10 NBA team.

    Another year of experience with a young team and last year was Doug Collins first year. This year they know his system better and are playing much better.

    But why limit your judgement to only six games? Why not use their entire schedule and adjust each performance according to opponent strength? They've played a soft schedule, but the fact that they have a double-digit average win margin definitely counts for something. Most importantly, I'm 7-3 betting them this season. All on the spreadsheet.

    Houston has beat a handful of good teams this year- do you think the Rockets are better than the Sixers?

    The Sixers are a very very good team, and it's going to be a fun year for us Philly fans. The Sixers strength starts with their coach. They play hard every night, and they beat up bad teams because of consistent execution and effort. They are also a very deep team and have an advantage in the current season's format. Unfortunately when they get to the playoffs, more talented teams will raise their intensity and the Sixers regular season advantage will disappear.

    It doesn't take a genius to predict that they will lose in round 2 to either Miami or Chicago, but don't be surprised if they lose in Round 1 if they draw a hot team with more talent. A team like this is perfect for the regular season, but they don't have the talent to take them deep into the playoffs.

    They are built well for a lockout shortened season. The playoffs will be a different story though, even if they are little condensed as well. Philly is a 2nd round exit at best.

    They're above average, but not good enough to go deep into the playoffs. Their local fans can feel good about the fact that they have a winning team. However, when it comes down to competing against the more elite teams in the playoffs, you can count Philly out.
