jack z was a the formers brewers top draft guy, guy will have seattle a winning team in no time.

pineda will be back, will take him time though.

yanks have so many great catching prospects don't even think they will be missing jesus

    montero hasn't done jack sh1t

if he was tearing it up this would hurt more

yanks have multiple Grade A catcher prospects in minors. guys better than montero.

not cashmans fault. how would he have any idea this would happen.

    he'l be back next year

seattle took advantage of the yankees at the time of this trade. this just makes it worse.

Not that simple bronxer. These shoulder injuries are setting guys back big time now. May never get his velocity back

I dont get why ths isnt a bigger story. I have been posting about this situation from the beginning, and no one seems interested. Do people forget how dominating this kid was at times last year? He's a god damn beast.

    Better pure catching prospects....Yes

Montero obviously much better hitter but not sure if he can be a major league catcher, defensively

alot of people around baseball don't think pineda can repeat what he did last year. he had a babip of .258 and would have to move parks from seattle to new york plus the addtion of going to the AL East, but most importantly he would expect to have an increase in babip of at least 30 points.

M's have pitching and could afford to deal Pineda. What a lot of people outside of Seattle don't know, is that Pineada doesn't have much of a secondary pitch. Fastball has good velocity, but you need more than that. Montero is doing just fine and the M's are slowly transitioning him into catcher. It will be interesting to see what Pineda will look like next year...might not even have the velocity that he did in Seattle.

can yanks fight back and ask for trade to be rescinded or compensation? assuming they can find that seattle knew of an issue...

Read that his fast ball topped out at 90 during his last start last season, when he was hitting 98 earlier in the year. Shoulder tear last season?

Yankees saying they got a healthy Pineda though.

A's are another crafty team that realizes its park makes pitchers' stats look better than they really are. Trevor Cahill anyone?

No, the Yanks have already said they think the tear came on the last pitch of his last minor league outing.

cahill is a ground ball pitcher so the park factor doesn't have that great an impact on him.

which i imagine arizona didn't mind bringing him on.

it isn't so much the ballpark this year for Cahill, its just that he can't throw strikes and hes leaving his sinker up in the zone. look at his is BB:K ratio. its bad.

I doubt Seattle knew. The Yanks had to do that inject the die shit into the MRI just to find the tear.

yeah i know about cahill's walk problems. i have him in a dynasty league.

i was just saying cahill didn't benefit from oakland's park as much as other pitchers.

Add him to the list of pitchers who flame out as soon as they put on the pinstripes.
