Illinois was -320 last I saw.
That being said, Iowa +7.5 was the play. Not all of them win, but if Iowa doesn't have 15 unforced turnovers it could be a different game.
As bad as Illinois looked today, I'm surprised they won by 11.

Bottom line, your logic to bet the game was sound. However, the line movement combined with the high public % on a dog in a game that statistically completely makes sense from every angle screams no play. GL in the future. FYI one of my angles is when I look at the games and I see a "oh my God that line is way off" I almost always pass.
