I have some play money - $2000. This is money I am willing to lose on a fun experiment. I do not expect to win this experiment.

I am trying to win 50 bets, with odds of at least -1000, in a row. I will be betting my entire bankroll on each bet (on a betting exchange).

If I am successful with this, and the odds are at least -1000 each, then I will end up with over $230,000.

This experiment will fail at some stage, the odds of it succeeding are 0.011%.

But it will be fun to try this and see how far I can take it.

I will mainly do this for the sport of soccer, but I may throw in the odd NFL game as well. This experiment may take a whole year to complete and may only include 1 game per week.

Will update all bets in this thread until the winning streak ends.

Yeah, you're right, I am using a betting exchange so hopefully liquidity will be ok on the big markets. Although it's quite likely my streak will end before liquidity becomes an issue.

i thought this was going to be an interesting experiment because -1000s lose sometimes but very infrequently. -400-somethings lose all the f*ckin time.

now its not an experiment of seeing how long you can go before getting burnt by a bad upset taking very safe bets, instead- youre just playing like an ass with very high juice.

I would stick to big name college football favorites. -1000 in college football is probably your safest bets.

Would look at a game like
Penn State vs Indiana
USC vs Arizona
Southern Miss vs Rice
Arizona St vs Oregon State

although all these are somewhat risky

Yes, I actually mentioned this in my first post, odds of winning this experiment are 0.011%. This experiment is likely to end much earlier than the targeted 50 game streak.

Guys, just to clarify, I am betting games with odds of at least -1000 or better, so -476 qualifies under that category. Even with Manchester United resting players, I still think they have too much quality for Basel.

You guys are right, betting soccer is a bit risky due to the draw being a possibility. Will try to include a greater proportion of NFL/NCAAF bets in this challenge. Thank you for the advice.

I agree that College Football heavy favourites would be very good options for these types of bets.

Yeah, I think the language I used was perhaps a little confusing. I don't come from the USA so perhaps that's why there is a little confusion with the terminology used.

Will be betting short priced ML favourites with odds of -1000 or better (ie. higher return). For example, odds of -500, -700, -950 etc. If I won 50 consecutive bets at -1000, I would end up with around $230,000.

Like I said, I expect to win much less than 50 in a row, this is just a fun experiment, not expecting to win this challenge at all. I am just interested to see how many I can win in a row before that loss comes along.
