I agree, these things are blown out of proportion. People race to the stores like it's their last meal

This is actually a good marketing tactic for like rain gear companies, panchos, survival kits, food, w/e.

Just keep making people think the world is going to end, might boost the economy a little bit.

When it ices over for maybe 2 days here in the Southeast in winter...everyone rushes to buy out the milk and bread....as if when the power goes out they will suddenly develop a craving for only that and neglect the other food stuffed in the cabinets/fridge . Morons!

How are weather stations and the general media going to survive if they don't over hype every storm, rapist, or dead baby.

A good friend of mine is an executive producer for ABC, she has told me that it's their job to look at what every other media outlet is doing and make it seem worse.

Look at the balloon boy, Casey Anthony, the Japan Tsunami (when it was going to "destroy" Hawaii).

The media blows everything out of proportion, intentionally.

Ya I agree that this particular storm has been over hyped from the beginning. It will be a weak tropical storm when it gets to NYC. A little bit of flooding and maybe even a sign or two blown over but that's it.

You guys are morons. Shit's going to be flooded in the Northeast. If you haven't been through a hurricane, you got no clue. This storm especially, while maybe not as powerful wind-wise as estimated - is massive as far as the amount of rain it will dump.

Its all nonsense. I'm getting drunk tonight in the northeast then I'm gonna bang my girl and create my own hurricane.

They're now saying it's going to be a "strong storm" with "tropical storm" force strength. The weathermen stating to back off calling it a "hurricane" This thing is gonna roll into town with wind speeds of 54mph and 5" of rain

Not one of the videos yet in the storms path has been impressive. Guys stay safe but this isn't the apocalypse.

I had to turn the windshield wipers on the other day out here, wtf you guys complaining about? Of course 30 minutes later not a cloud in the sky and 78 degrees. But for a few minutes there was liquid coming out of the sky.

It was all part of the plan to stimulate the economy. Overhype the storm to get people to rush out and spend money on building supplies and hardware to board up houses, buy all the food off the shelves, batteries, generators, assorted sundries, gas, liquor, etc...

Happens every time here in South Florida, these old people will put hurricane shutters even when a tropical storm is approaching
