Should baseball teams have salary cap?

Teams like yankees, red sox have gazillion dollars to spend...where as small market teams like houston, Cleveland never have a chance to compete.

NBA and NFL has salary caps...so why doesn't MLB have it?...are players against it?

Realistically, there are only around 12 teams every year which even have a chance to make the playoffs. Why do we even play the regular season...just make these 12 teams directly play ployoffs every year

every sport should have a salary cap and no guaranteed contracts. if you don't perform teams should be able to release you.

Baseball's has the luxury tax which is a form of a salary cap. While you can past the salary cap limit you have to pay tax on the amount above the the cap back to the league.

They should change it to how euro soccer is. Lets say top 10 salary teams play in one league, while the rest play in the B league, bottom team falls out of A, while top team of B goes into A league.

The owners will cap it off someday. It will happen soon enough.

I agree with the first part and completely disagree with the 2nd part.
How can you offer a contract that doesnt have guaranteed money or duration?
.... If this is the case every contract should be a 1 year deal to be renegotiated at the end of the season.
Osi Umenyiora just articulated very clearly how unfair these NFL deals are for the players. If you out perform you contract your stuck making subpar money but if you under perform you can be cut with no consequences........ How is that fair to the players?
