    That's a very good question. I wonder if they decided to "sub" a player with SbrJohn err John Morrison in on one of the other teams. Because I know they don't feel bad that we won't be getting the 5k free points the winning team gets per player.

    I stuck 100pts on canada and world at +400 and +450 :-) Even if the US does have the best players, the format won't allow it to show that much.

    Get several thousands if Europe does well of course, but just a little insurance....

    Yeah, -500 was crazy to lay.

    Of course, now I think USA is the only bet because the other options dropped so much. Getting +250 or more is worth betting a side, but with the non-US sides prices from +120 to +145...

    factored in a very important variable that may have accounted for the USA's success-rate eh? the fact that they had thousands of more players playing than anyone else and the probability in a 100% luck game would have rendered similar results? nice work.

    Keep in mind that every team would be +300 if all priced the same in a non-juice market...

    i can buy a little US (+400/450 for canada/world was ridiculous in this format) so that i just breakeven with them and leaving only europe that can hurt me, but i can't pull the trigger because if i end up behind 3 of these teams, the 4th is OBVIOUSLY your winner.

    Of course. The vig is astronomical. I just meant that at the original lines, I didn't think any of the underdogs were priced high enough to bet on, and laying 1/5 on a side in poker is folly.

    With the drop in odds, it clearly is not worth considering betting on a non-US side, but depending on how you feel about the US team, you might consider the US at -150 (or of course at even, which unfortunately I missed out on).

    Well, I think the US is the best team. Of course that's because the Americans have a much larger pool of poker players to draw from, but just looking at the satellites, there seem to be more American players doing consistently well than Europe, Canada, or the countries that comprise the World team.

    Percentage wise, the number of Americans on this site who are good at poker may very well be lower than elsewhere, but we're just looking at the top performers from each group.

    Haha, more likely close to freerolling on Europe. Booking "even" amounts at +400, +450 and +100 would be only -13% in a 3-way market, so a small amount bet on Europe would put you at break-even for those 3 and plus huge if Europe takes it.
