Chicago - Best US sports town?

I ain't talking best fans but can you make an argument that Chicago sports fans have it better than any other city for pro sports at this time?

Just looking at the Bulls this year and they seem to be headed to the NBA finals, the Black Hawks winning the Cup last year, The Bears seem solid and the White Sox/Cubs are decent teams.

probably boston. the celtics and bruins are both in the conference championship series, the red sox and patriots contend every year.

edit: celtics are in the 2nd round, not the cc yet

ya I keep forgetting New England as part of Boston

Philadelphia must be considered also - Phillies, Flyers and Eagles

Foxborough (which is a suburb of Boston) is about 20 miles outside of Boston. If there was room for a football stadium in Boston, I'm sure it would have been built there.

ya I know and you're right. I just have that mental deficiency when associating New England and Boston for some reason. Too late to change the tread now

As far as Boston is concerned, they are great with NE and the Red Sox. Bruins haven't done squat recently besides make the playoffs. Celtics have been real strong the past few seasons but they also were in the dumps for awhile.

For Chicago, the Cubs can't win anything when it matters and the White Sox are usually pretty solid. Bulls were a complete debacle in the 2000's. Blackhawks won it but they haven't really been that consistent in even making the playoffs in the 2000's. Bears are usually pretty strong.

Chicago and Boston are top five but I'll go with Detroit because the Lions ended last season on a 4 game winning streak.

I am with you on the hockey but would rather have not even made the NFC championship game then to go down with a QB taking himself out of the game.

Nah. Detroit loses because even if all your teams win the title, you are still living in Detroit.

Boston has been number 1 for the last few years, but we're slipping. Red Sox are going to be fighting hard for a playoff spot, Celtics are going to be rebuilding in a year or 2, and hockey is hard to build a dynasty in. The Patriots are the consistent bright spot, as long as Bill Belichick and TFB are there they will contend, and they had a 14-2 rebuilding year last year.

    I would say, right now-
    1. Boston
    2. Chicago
    3. New York
    4. Philly

Cleveland baby... Browns won football championships, came close to making superbowl trips. Cav's close to titles in Lebron era and would have won several with Price, Ehlo and Daugherty if there was no Jordan. Then the Indians have contended for World series several times as well. Cleveland may not win the big one but we usually contend. Well, actually we know we're not going to win the big one but it's always an exciting ride even though we crash and burn down the stretch.

All I know is there isn't 1 city in America that can hold a candle to the passion for football in England.

Easy for Cities like Boston, Chicago, New York, and Philly to be considered good sports towns. When you're in a large market, you can expect your teams to purchase talent. When there is good talent, people go to games. When people are always at games, you're considered a good sports town.

I have more respect for the fans of small market teams that show up even when their team is absolute shit.
