My Fantasy Baseball Draft Starts @7pm ET

    TEAM: SNORTING THE MENDOZA LINE

I have the 9th overall pick in a ten team league. $100 entry, $600 for the winner. I shall list my selections here for ridicule and review from all the experts and banana heads. Head-2-head weekly play with pretty standard scoring options and lineups. 5 SP/2 RP and then one position player at each + 3 OFs + 1 DH [player from any position].

    Pick #1: Evan Longoria

Lots of SPs taken before my pick, but I went for elite at his position. Snaking back to me soon.

    Pick #2: Joey Votto

Resisted the temptation to snag CC Sabathia as a SP even though pretty much every dude around me took a SP. Went for elite at his position again with Pujols & Cabrera gone so far. Now a long wait for my next pick.

    Pick #3: Dustin Pedroia
    Pick #4: Dan Haren

Long wait again now. Feel good about the position players. Haren should be a solid #1 starter for me. Will definitely snag an OF next snake around and probably see what's left elsewhere.

Too early for Haren. You could wait and get some solid starters. Many experts do not take SP's til the 9th or 10th round. Keep piling up solid bats.

    Pick #5: Andre Ethier
    Pick #6: Roy Oswalt

I had targeted Oswalt earlier then some perhaps because as a #3 in that loaded Philly rotation, he should wind up getting some favorable picthing match-ups.

I had to take starters earlier man, these fukks in my league drafting like nothing but SPs it seems like, had to flow with the draft. Hopefully it bites them all in the ass. I think I got two good ones + solid bats. I'm not wasting a ton of time on OF after Ethier, I have a couple sleepers earmarked to take later.

You can find speed later also. If your able to nab Andrus at short soon, you can get guys like rajai davis and coco crisp later to round out your steals.

Anyways....sorry to backseat drive your draft. I love this shit. Had 2 live cash leagues draft already. I'd do 10 if I could find them around my area.

    Good luck to you.

Votto and Longoria are a sweet combo.

It's head-2-head, it's all points based not traditional 5x5, so categories don't mean anything here.

    Pick #7: Carlos Santana
    Pick #8: Tim Hudson

Damn these fukkers with the pitchers. Got my starters set except SS and I have my two OF slots waiting with two guys I have marked for late snags + still several other good options.

Is this one of those fuked up ESPN H2H total points leagues where SP's score a shit load more based on the system? I've drafted a few of those in public leagues, and it's almost correct to take SP's with your first 4 picks due to the fact that the top 10 pitchers are worth 200 more fantasy points on the season than Pujols.

It's a CBS Sportsline league. Starting Pitchers get you points for IPs, Quality Starts, Wins, Ks and subtract for hits allowed, walks and ERs. It's not like SPs have a huge advantage points-wise.

I'll post the league's teams and their rosters when done for anyone who wants to critique me. I feel pretty good right now, but that's not really knowing what the other rosters look like.

    Pick #11: Alexei Ramirez
    Pick #12: Chris Young

I still have two OFs snuggled away in Stubbs & McLouth - also like Carlos Quentin who I really like to add depth and give me a DH to use. Starting lineup is set for position players. Now I have to round out my SP and pick up another solid RP for saves.

Read above sucker ... this is not a categories league. It's all points based, you get 1 for a single, 2 for a double, etc. Besides I believe BJ Upton is going to hit well this year, he's been working hard on his swing + the bonus of steals and extra base hits should mean good points for me.

you can easily win a head to head league with late round pitchers

you shouldve just let them keep stacking pitchers and concentrate on position players and RP. by reaching for pitchers, you kinda screwed yourself.
