interesting read, but a skewed way of looking at things. the books know the future just as well as you and me know the future. the way i saw it is after the first 2 games of the series, the books need to come up with a number that creates equal action from the public. they did a pretty good job of that with the 1-2 pt line. according to covers 51%-49% split. about as good as it gets for the books. the advantage for the bettor comes when you can look past the line and come up with a pick based on other factors. the line is an efficient market that can not be beat by trying to get inside the minds of the books, because the mere action of posting a line means the books have an argument for both sides. our goal should be to come up with a better argument for one side or the other.
