At the end of the day its a trade off. Do you want a robust economy where jobs pay well and anyone has the chance to make it big? Or do want what we have now where you tax, make improve the lives of millions, and spend until their is no more investment and no chance at making it big? Basically redistribution kills the American dream. The money has to stay in the private sector instead of being stripped out via taxes to pay for entitlement and military programs.
Progressives aren't really interested in doing their "fair share" of the workload. They very much prefer to live off the hard work of others and will continue to elect politicians who believe in redistributing the wealth of those that "can" to those that "won't".

Conservatives (even those who aren't wealthy) are willing to put in the extended work weeks that are necessary to become successful. They want the opportunity to become successful themselves and they know that when the government tries to raise taxes on the wealthy, it will limit their opportunities.

The reason why the unemployment rate stubbornly remains above 8% (really closer to 15% as they are no longer counting those that have given up looking for work as unemployed) is because the wealthy are keeping their money on the sidelines as opposed to investing in new businesses that create private sector jobs. They are doing this because of their concern as to what the tax climate will look like if Obama wins re-election.

Obama and the democrats continue to attack the wealthy because they believe doing so will help them politically as political gain is by far and away the most important thing to the democrat party.

With more and more Americans out of work, the democrats are doing everything they possibly can to make things even worse for middle class America:

1. They continue to attack the wealthy which leads to LESS JOBS AVAILABLE for the middle class to fill.

2. Fearing another poor election result this November (the 2010 democrat party massacre is still fresh in their minds), Obama is issuing special work permits to ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS in order to avoid their deportation (hoping it will lead to increased hispanic support come November). Middle class America now has to battle with a whole new group of people looking for jobs.

Instead of doing whatever he can to INCREASE THE SUPPLY of jobs available, President Obama and the democrats are instead INCREASING THE DEMAND for jobs and the middle class is suffering greatly as a result.

If Romney wins the presidency, you will see millionaires and billionaires all over the country using their huge net worths to invest in new business creating a massive number of new jobs that will need to be filled with millions of middle class Americans waiting to fill them.

If Obama wins re-election, the status quo will continue with record numbers of Americans needing public assistance and more and more companies outsourcing their labor needs to more business friendly climates.

There is no greater enemy to the middle class than the Democrat Party.
