Why people claim these strip and near strip hotels are so great for gambling is beyond me. I was in Vegas this past weekend and the strip is worse than ever 20 cent lines shitty limits and verification on any bet you wanted to make that actually made sense.
Strip has and always will suck for anyone who is even semi serious about placing sports wagers.

Sure they have a lot of TV mostly showing soccer these days, and have comfy seats but that doesnt make you money. Downtown still offers 5 or 6 independent lines within walking distance of each other. With a phone and some leg work you can get some pretty decent action in within minutes on the best lines available.

It is actually a lot easier getting pre move plays in these days than it was even 5 years ago. Only thing is some books downtown still are slow in taking some action, but for most guys the limits arent an issue, 3K seemd to be the tipping point with most places but if they didnt notice or there wasnt a recent move there wasnt any issue. I didnt have any plays rejected but I did have one 3 or 4 cents worse than what I saw, I still took it because it had moved 8 cents so the move was still the best number around.

ut the strip is basically a tourist trap and not many guys looking to make money are there for any amount of time if at all. I did walk around down there as I took my wife and we were staying at the venetian, but we went down town when I was looking to make a bet. But I did play a few horse and dog races in the venetian book. So I suppose for simulcast parimutuel betting these places are no different than any other joint. But for sports betting theyre a joke.
