    Raiders vs Lions MNF Thoughts?

Lions got spanked last week on the road, back at home now in this rebound game.

Raiders kinda suck. Lions are the play with the -7 points me tinks! That's basic capping skills in a nut shell for you.

LV offense blows. 17 pts is their ceiling. Surprisingly, their defense has been pretty solid.

With Jimmy G the raiders have a chance to cover 7 point spread.

Using the past 120 games as a sample size in this bounce back example, the .500 or better team that got blown out the week before facing a sub .500 team the following week, the .500 or better team (in this case the Lions) are 80-39-1 ATS.

That's a 67% ATS treend for all you trend bettors out there.
Personally I take those trends with a grain of salt, it's a fact you can't totally ignore but I think (barring injuries) last week's games doesn't really effect the outcome of the following week's games.

Lions pass defense is at best ordinary, I think the over 46.5 is safer than laying the lumber, Jimmy should be able to generate enough points to push that game over 47 points.

More than likely will pass on this clusterfuck and pay attention to baseball.

    https://nypost.com/2023/10/29/sports...re-lions-game/

The Raiders’ team meeting took a unique turn Thursday when head coach Josh McDaniels offered the opportunity for the players to take the floor.

Ahead of the team’s “Monday Night Football” matchup against the Lions in Detroit, Raiders players had the opportunity “to voice the frustrations that at times have bubbled over publicly” amid a disappointing 3-4 campaign thus far, according to NFL.com.

Players from all across the roster voiced their opinions, including wide receiver Davante Adams, defensive end Maxx Crosby and running back Josh Jacobs, with many finding the opportunity to be “cathartic.”

The meeting also transpired days before the NFL trade deadline on Oct. 31.

Las Vegas has received trade calls about wide receiver Hunter Renfrow, but no deal is close, per the report.

The team also fielded calls regarding Adams and Crosby — both of whom would likely require big trade compensation — but the Raiders have declined to make any moves for them.

Adams previously expressed his frustration about the Raiders’ offense and his lack of targets in recent games against the Packers and Patriots.

“I’m sure people are thinking: ‘They won the game, why is there an issue?’ I mean, you see why it’s an issue. Y’all should know who I am, know what I’m about at this point … when you’re a player like me, mentally, my benchmark is not wins and losses — it’s greatness. So when I go out there, I expect to be able to have that ability to put that on tape and have an influence on the game. That’s my purpose for being here. I’m not here just to hang out; I came here to win and to do it the right way,” Adams said.

During an interview Friday on “The Rich Eisen Show,” Adams said: “I will say this: I am happy to be a Raider 100 percent. … Winning makes everything much more fun, so we’ve just got to do more of that.”

In addition to a Week 8 clash against the Lions, the Raiders are entering a critical stretch of games that includes the Giants, Jets and Dolphins followed by the Chiefs.

A Week 7 loss to the Bears unraveled the Raiders’ two-game winning streak, causing them to drop three games behind first-place Kansas City in the AFC West standings.

However, the Raiders remain only one game back of a wild-card spot with 10 games to go.

There are not many better NFL bets than backing the Detroit Lions at home.

The Lions have covered 7 of their last 8 home games, and are a stellar 14-3 ATS in their last 17 overall games. While they stumbled in Baltimore last week, Detroit has covered their last 3 games following an ATS loss.

Facing the Las Vegas Raiders tonight, the Lions are 7.5-point favorites. The Raiders have been a great fade on the road, going 1-5 ATs in their last 6 games as visitors.

Lions had a good first drive but only ended up with 3 points. Not sure what to think of that? Raiders pressuring Goff so far.

seen enough, the Lions aren't a true threat in the NFC playoffs unless other top teams fall apart due to injuries and get weakened

they can't get out of their own way

Adams was wide open just now with no one within 10 yards of him and Garoppolo's throw wasn't even close and sailed out of bounds

remember when the Niners won 2 home playoff games where he barely even had to throw the ball? v Vikings then v Packers???

didn't have to face any real pressure plays???

that's how I capped that SB and bet the Chiefs............. and it worked out perfectly when Jimmy fell apart in the 4th when the game got close

    i'll never forget it

An easy 6 for sure. Not even sure how he was so wide open being best WR on the team and they blew that coverage bad.

Yeah, I said on here about 3 weeks ago that it's like an auto-under on prime-time games right now. But, I never thought it would be this bad. I mean who the hell could stick around and keep betting the over every prime-time game? LOL.

Fading lions the 2nd half of the season. Their play calling was terrible, especially in the red zone, and they make far too many mistakes.

Even an average team may have beat them last night, they were lucky they were playing the dogshit raiders.

Lions will likely make the playoffs, but they aren't going 6-2 over the 2nd half of the season.
