I would say Hopkins was better

It came out after that trade he had been in the block almost two years

Only way Texans win trade is if David Johnson pans out

Guy couldn't stay on the field in key situations due to concussions. Great team player and made some memorable catches but again the contract was terrible. Surprised Rams got a second rounder for him.

    You would say?

d hop is top 3 in the game , maybe #1

no issues , not a diva , blah blah

David Johnson is an injury prone , number grabber

who thrived under a different system

kliff wasn’t gonna use em anyway

    Bill is wanna be belicheck

similarly playing in a weak division

    deshaun should be upset

This forum doesn’t want legit insight tho

    so play along

or you might get an infraction

No. Houston got 2 guys on big contracts who have major health concerns.

Cooks hasn’t been same since getting deboed as a patriot in sb vs philly. Everyone says he is a good guy and teammate but now Payton, bill and McVay have traded him in 4 years. Something seems off about that.

You are correct. Just looked at his and Johnson’s deals. Cooks has zero dead money next season and Johnson is 2.1 in dead money. Both will likely be gone after season and if Watson wants out of Hou after season they can blow it all up and start again.

Think he has a few years left but he wasted watt’s prime and he will do the same with Watson if he isn’t canned.

First and foremost there has to be more than meets the eye with Brandin Cooks.
I learned a little bit about him as a person when he played up in New England.
He came across as both intelligent and likeable.
Why is such a talent on his third team already?
Like I said there has to be more than meets the eye.
With Cooks pretty much replacing Hopkins Houston has a nice set or receivers with Fuller, Stills, and Cobb.
Yes Cobb is getting old but he's a smart football player.

If you know anything about your pal Nasher than you know he loves running backs that catch the ball out of the backfied too.
My guy will always be Matt Forte, in my opinion he was one of the greatest ever recieving backs.

David Johnson is a Matt Forte type reciever and good recieving backs like that are rare.
Johnson had a season for the ages in 2016. One of the greatest combined single season run/pass receptions numbers you'll ever see.
    (look it up)
I know he's coming off a wrist injury but he says he's fine.
Johnson is still only 28 but if he's near 100 percent and play close to his 2016 potential than Houston has an offense that could be a wrecking crew.
I hope the NFL starts on time this year, I am really going to enjoy watching Houston.

Cooks may be damaged goods with Goff hanging him out to dry a ton the last two years.

These Rams WR's are just lucky they aren't playing in the 1970's or we may see one of them die. Goff is not an NFL QB.

After a season in which Hopkins posted career-lows in yards per receptions and average depth of target, the Texans have rebuilt their passing attack around the speed of Will Fuller, Kenny Stills and Cooks, who has twice before been traded for a first round pick and overlapped in New England with O’Brien’s right hand man Jack Easterby. Cooks’ 14.8 yards per reception since 2015 rank fourth among receivers with at least 300 receptions during that time. As the Rams’ offensive line and quarterback Jared Goff struggled this past season, Cooks’ numbers dropped severely (42 receptions, 583 yards). But he had recorded more than 1,000 receiving yards in four consecutive seasons prior to that. In 2018, when the team reached the Super Bowl, Cooks made 22 explosive catches — one fewer than Hopkins that season, but on 35 fewer receptions.

The Texans ranked 21st in pass plays that gained at least 20 yards last season, but if pushing the ball downfield becomes more of a priority under first-time play caller Tim Kelly, Houston has a quarterback capable of executing that plan. Deshaun Watson tied for 14th in pass attempts that traveled 15-plus yards downfield last season, but he ranked ninth in completion rate (46.7%), seventh in touchdown rate (10.3%) and 10th in yards per attempt (13.5).

Cooks has a troubling concussion history, and that can obviously lead to a guy retiring early, but Cooks and Hopkins have actually played in the same amount of games since 2016 (62).
