    If Carolina does not make the playoffs this season, there is a good chance that Rivera is gone. Either way, Cam is definitely finished in Carolina. He will make a decent back-up for some team.

    He's been a liability for awhile

    Even making it to the Superbowl in 2016 he was the liability of that team. They were favored by like 6 points and lost by 14. Everyone who observed Newton's career in the NFL knew he would screw it up when it counted.

    He's actually the only starting NFL QB I can remember (couple years ago) where the team's line improved when he was out and the backup started

    Why cut him when they can trade him? Some team will give up picks and/or players for him. I'd wait a few weeks though to make sure this is the QB they really want to start. There's no going back after a cut or trade.

    true. they need to see him back to cam cam. but i think if they beat the jags (probably will) then beat buccs, (very possible), then i would say cams job is definitely at risk. but not right now

    This. Running QB's fall off the cliff fast in the NFL. He could stay in the league with improved accuracy. Accuracy is his biggest weakness though.

    I'm a Newton fan and always will be bear. Just because this cougar shows up and wins a few games doesn't dismiss 8 years, 3 nfc south 's, and a super bowl appearance. I've already said my peace with the Giant about his off the field issues and what happened after SB 50. He's just being the scapegoat that every team needs for now. I'd like to see him finish out as a panther. Obv he doesn't look the same on the field as he has in years past. Injuries will do that to you. I don't mind turning the page and looking toward a new era, just hope it works out okay for the war eagle.

    The 3 NFC south 's aside how can you say you will always be a fan? What if he were caught on video raping an underage girl while watching an underground dog fighting match? I know, sounds like a long shot but it's about 1000 times more likely than with just some average non NFL dude
