OK. Not saying you're wrong, but trading Brady would take some serious balls. And they had to decide this mid-season. And what if Brady had gone on to win the Super Bowl? You're still trading him? If that happens and then they trade him and don't win again, they will be forever lambasted. And if Brady goes on to win elsewhere?

Tom Brady is a unique case because of his longevity. Father time though is undefeated.

I would have kept Jimmy g. Trade Brady because you would have gotten more then you think and you suffer some short term pain possibly.

Bill had a plan to keep ne dominating for another 7-8 years. Kraft intervened. Something he had never done with Bill before. Was bill doing a bad job that the owner needed to step in?

Is Jimmy G the one that pushed the issue? Said he wanted out so he could play. I don't blame him for that. This problem comes up a lot when teams have depth at qurterback. Then teams get their starter injured and expect the backup to come in and look great. Every other position can be platooned. A backup gets one or two possessions a game and he would be ready if the team ever needed him?

Not until the SB LIII....DID YOU SAYS PLAYOFFS???

The San Francisco 49ers season is a wrap, and while the full schedule does not arrive for three and a half months, we do know the full list of opponents the 49ers will face in 2018.
The NFL has a formula that determines which divisions and teams the 49ers will face each year. In 2018, they play their six divisional games, four games against the AFC West, four games against the NFC North, and one game apiece against the NFC East and South team that joined the 49ers in the cellar.
Here’s their full list of home and away opponents for 2018.
Home: Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders, New York Giants, Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks
Away: Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Los Angeles Chargers, Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks
Now that the regular season is complete, we now know that the 49ers “strength of schedule” is .500. We’ll hear a lot about SOS, but as always it is a number that is not exactly super helpful. It tells us how good (or bad) 49ers opponents were in 2017, but it says nothing about how they’ll perform in 2018. Rather, it’s just an initial bench-mark figure until we get a better handle on things. After all, the 49ers were 6-10 this year, but I don’t think teams will look at this as an “easy” matchup for 2018.
The first real decent option for assessment will come when Super Bowl odds are released, followed by win totals after the schedule is released. They at least offer a look to 2018 rather than a look back at 2017.
A year ago, the 49ers strength of schedule was .502, so it is fairly similar a year later. A year ago, they faced six opponents who won nine or more games. This year, they face eight such opponents. That includes two games each against the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams. A year ago, the 49ers opponents had a point differential of -6. This year, the point differential is +83.

we all saw what happens when a conference happens to have a bad year and a great team that is beat up and injured on D makes it to the SB due to great offense

    colts in 2009

    broncos in 13

    pats 17

if offense doesn't show up, u get blown out. if offense does show up but makes a couple critical errors like missing FG and 1 critical turnover = loss

eagles convert all of 4th downs, saints get onside kick

broncos WR all afraid of seattle in 13... center snaps ball over peyton safety and punt to seattle... GAME OVER

How are you going to call Butler their best defender? He got torched all season. Stick to what you know and based on your avatar it appears that would be Eastern European tranny hookers.

He'll be a solid player and put up numbers but no team is gonna be afraid of the guy.

AFC East probably still the weakest division out there. Jets and Bills might be marginally better if they get a QB but still have holes in their rosters, Miami are Miami. Thats usually 4-5 wins there already.

AFC in general kind of shifting toward a lot of teams with new eras. Raiders with Gruden, Denver/Kansas with new QBs, AFC South with teams on the up, would it surprise anyone if Phillip Rivers led the Chargers to one last deep run?

I have no reason he cannot handle the pressure. I think SF did very well to get him (they gave plenty), but it will be worth the price.

As for the Pats... they will do just fine. Yes it is hard to let him go, but they did not have too much choice. The only thing that could make this a bad decision would be if TB gets injured or just hangs it up sooner than thought.
