Thursday Night CFB Schedule this season is AWFUL

Thurs night college foots one of my favorite things ever but it appears the NFL has finally won the thurs night stage because there are literally no marquee games after the first thur night when Ohio State plays Indiana. Hoosiers not good but buckeyes a great brand.

there was a time not too long ago when marquee games would happen every few weeks on a thurs night but that is apparently now a thing of the past.

    puke.

So you watch something else it's not really a big deal when you compare it to life

Don't let the television control you let the Bible control you

There have really been good games on Thursday nights unless it was just by chance that both teams were having a good year which happens

Thursday College card is fantastic this season for betting. Small garbage schools is where the money is.

But for some reason some people think that Alabama vs. Clemson @ -110 a point spread pays better odds than Arkansas St. vs. Georgia Southern spread @ -110.

no dude. you can look back at thurs night slates the past two decades and you'll notice large conf schools on almost every week.

the mac games would typically be tue, wed, and started in early Nov

yes very true. much better matchups on friday nights this year just based on name brand alone. however, i think this move by college football will backfire. most fans are busy on fri nights, it's not a good TV night so i believe the ratings will suffer. once that happens the schedule will probably shift back to marquee names on thurs nights instead of fridays within the next year or two

Just a guess, but Friday's are probably easier on the hosting school. Thursday games at a big school with a stadium on campus pretty much shuts it down from Wednesday to Friday. That's one reason many Big 10 and SEC teams are adverse to playing mid week games

Not a bad point but this would've been an issue many years ago when bog time teams played on Thursdays every week seemingly. I truly think the NFL ratings have beaten CFB in recent years so college tried to do something different this year. The,last few years the ncaa played the football final 4 on 12/31 and tv ratings stunk. I think the same thing will happen this year and next on cfb fri night games and by 2019 fall, cfb Thursday nights will be back to normal with top conferences playing on those nights again
