Adrian Peterson top 5 athlete over last 3 decades?

    I.e, my life time?

Dude is a freak. Absolute monster. Only other guys I enjoyed watching as much were Barry Sanders and Michael Jordan.

Really need the vikings to lose here, but I would love to see AP get the record.

I don't think that's silly at all.. Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders are the best natural athletes I've ever seen.

Not sure I've ever seen a RB w/ such powerful and violent cuts as AP. He's an animal and I can't help but question how he's doing this so soon (cough... PEDs... cough)

AP isn't even the best RB in the NFL today. Jamaal Charles is

And Jim Brown was the best ever and Charles has a better YPC than he does

JRod, I understand where you are coming from by saying Jamaal. Especially if you are a KC homer. Hell, he just got the record for most YPC in the history of the league.

However, AP literally single-handedly put Minny in the playoffs.

Charles got them the 1st pick.

Not on the same level, but Charles is fun to watch.

I 100% agree that Bo Jackson is the greatest athlete I'll ever see in my lifetime. I thought this even before the 30 on 30. But after watching that, I can't believe anyone could argue this point.

I love AP and don't want to come across as disrespecting the season that he had at all. 2097 is amazing period, no matter how slice it. He is also a class act and seems like one of the nicest guys in the world. I am just thinking a little deeper about the whole thing. First off he is on a atrocious team with 0 QB, Christian Ponder is at least decent. Leslie Frazier is 100 times the coach of Romeo Crennel also. I mean Todd Haley in 2010 gave this guy only 230 carries and gave Thomas Jones 245 and Charles had 571 more yards, yet he is still employed in the NFL somehow. That right there is single biggest coaching travesty in NFL history. Maybe Charles slept with his wife I don't know. Charles also lead he league in percentage of carries that go for positive yards. Led the league in ten and twenty yard run in 2010. The most mind boggling stat? 13 games w 20 carries or more, 100+ yards every time time. Leads the NFL in the yards before contact and 1500 yards in basically 13 games. His team is never leading because they are awful so he misses out on garbage yards that the Peterson's, Lynch's etc. all get. The Chiefs didn't have a lead in 15 of 16 4th qtrs this season. He had 25 carries in the 2h and OT against the Saints and went crazy, imagine if the Chiefs had anyone else on offense? One final stat before I go, only 5 men have ever averaged 6 yards per carry in a season. Jim Brown, Gale Sayers, Barry Sanders, O.J. Simpson and Jamaal Charles.

Fantasy RB gimme Peterson, if I have 20 carries in a football game gimme Charles.

Chalky, the Wildcats are Final Four bound btw

Saw that 30 for 30, and he is easily in the discussion.

However, I remember him playing baseball, as there was nothing else to do in the summers of a Chicago suburb except catch a baseball game. Anyway, he wasn't this AP type of player who literally made it fun to watch him work. Hell, I enjoyed Frank Thomas on the shitty Sox much more than Bo.

I have no idea actually as to the reason they use Charles so little, but it has been with him for a while, with different coaches. For some reason KC always thinks they need a 2nd RB.

Frazier is a really good coach. Romeo, opinions aside, it's more the OC's fault than the HC's with this.

Ponder being decent is being nice. Although, KC's is worse, right alongside the Cards. Even worse is you get 1st pick, and are going to have to pick 10th pick talent with it.

Anyway, thanks for the props on the Cats. I am having an awesome time this season!

Lt had more power faulk maybe had as much agility although I'm not even sure about that and he also played on an offense that gave him so much space to run and receive

Well, if we're going to use the term "athlete" and not "Pro Football player" - then you have to consider other single sports people like Michael Phelps.

If you're going to consider overall athletics, shouldn't someone like Daley Thompson be a better choice?

way to miss the point....deion used speed to excel in two sports...thats it....and its not like he was a good baseball player

as for bo i dont know how you could argue that he is the greatest....what did he accomplish? zero 1000 yard rushing seasons and a mediocre baseball player...784 career ops is mediocre at best....and probably not even for an outfielder....coulda woulda shoulda

and fyi herschel was a better college rb....probably the best ever....also olympian bobsledder, just missed being an olympic sprinter and a 50+ mma fighter...reportedly ran a 4.3 40 after he was 50
