    Patriots Goalline Play Selection?

How do you have 3rd and goal on the 1 yard line and call two straight pass plays. I know it's the Steelers D but come on. You don't try to pound that in for a yard?

Lucky they got the defensive holding call or this would of came back to bite them ....

Not lucky, they had the touchdown, bad call by the officials. They are throwing because it uses less clock.

They're one yard out. I don't think you're going to conserve that much clock.

belichick coached like an asshole in the last 4 minutes...he doesnt challenge the gronkowski catch at the goalline which woulda been a td.....so it saved him a timeout...but it took them another minute and a half to score which ran off the clock...then he has 3 timeouts plus the 2 minute warning and he decided not to kick it deep....doesnt add up

"Hurry up Offense" after the Gronkowski td at the goaline wastes about a 40sec.... bad play calling.

Actually it will...you run the ball on 3rd and 1 and dont make it you have to get lined up, get a play called, switch players in and out all with the clock running. If you throw it and it's incomplete the clock stops immidiatley. Even if you preserve 20 seconds that is a ton in a one possession game.

Brady acted like it was the first quarter during that goal line shotgun hurry up offense while being down two scores. Wasted more time changing the play at the one yard line than actually huddling up. Badly called/coached game for pats considering recent domination of Pitt and coming off of bye week.

Belichick has been coaching like shit since Weis and Crennel left. He has nothing but loser college coaches on his staff, and they are afraid to challenge him.

When was the last big game this guy won? Going on about 7 years. He won't win anything until he gets some decent coordinators on his staff, which he refuses to do.

I understand the fundamentals on how it preserves time. I still disagree with the calls made on the field.

    1. If you're one yard out the chances you punch it in are pretty good

    2. Considering they wasted a ton of time on getting the next play run on the the pass that didn't find it's way into the end zone, it's almost a mute point. They didn't want to waste the time in case they don't get it. They throw a pass and fall short and take the same amount of time to call the next pass play

It was inconsequential. Pats had no business even being in position to win that game. They were outplayed by a ton and I am a Pats fan. The defense cannot get stops on 3rd down. Been that way for years now.
