Why the hell do you take a timeout in a tie ball game with the final possession, only to call for a three point shot that you havent made all night long?!?!?
Even worse, why do it again in overtime?!?! Butler didnt win....florida lost and they deserved to after that horrible coaching call........i feel bad for the other florida players who weren't called on to save the day and lost their chance at a national title because of two idiotic decisions on the part of their coach!!!!!!!!!!

hoyt you are an idiot. Donavan is a good coach. he is not the one taking those crappy shots. In college you got a bunch 18-22 year olds. they are unpredictable. Besides didn't win a championship with Donavan I don't remember them winning shit before he came there.
They called a timeout to call a play with <30 secs left. The guard wastes 25 secs off the clock before he decides to make an off balance three. U mean to tell me that wasn't the play that was called during the timeout?! You're a dumbass. That was obviously the play Donovan called up. And for that he should be fired.

Yes they did Clark. And they couldve held it for the final shot in OT only needing a 2 to win by 1. Idk if Donovan is to blame for that shot too but I wouldn't put it past him. Wasn't like he had Jimmer or K Walker on his team shooting the game winner. They got points in the paint all night long, why not do it when it mattered most?! But the 2H three pointer?? That was definitely a play that was drawn up. No ifs ands or buts about it.

While I'm not a big fan of how Florida played in the 2nd half, I would have to assume that it's not all on Donovan. I'm almost positive that he did not draw up a play that involved his PG dribbling 25 seconds off the clock than taking that shot. I'm pretty sure the play he drew up was better than that.
Kansas will beat Butler by 30.
That's if they beat VCU which is easier said than done. VCU is better than Northern Iowa who knocked out Kansas last year.

The ran the play out of the timeout!! Yeah. I'd be willing to bet that's the play he called! And if he does have renegade players on his team, he should get rid of them too.
Pearl would still be at Tenn had he not lied about that players positive drug test last month. You're already on the hot seat, why make it worse by lying?!? Just boot the kid off the team and move on.

billy, did not call a timeout, end of regulation.
therefore he didnt set up the play, he was pacing the sideline. he let his kids play.

Looked like a bad bit of coaching at the end of regulation. It looked like they were content to go to OT instead of trying to win the game. Going for a low percentage shot instead of trying to run a play, at least try to drive the lane maybe draw the foul. Florida didn't really give themselves a chance to win in regulation, playing not to lose instead of going for the win.
