Here are the top 20 sagarin rated teams ranked in order of their winning percentage against a composite of: 1. The top 25 sagarin rated teams and 2. The top 50 sagarin rated teams.

This shows you who is a legitimate power against elite competition and who is an over-ranked poser team. A lot of so-called elite teams are posers.

    1. Gonzaga (8-0)
    2. Nova (13-3)
    3. Kansas (17-5)
    4. FSU (15-5)
    5. Baylor (17-6)
    6. WVU (12-6)
    6. (tie) UNC (12-6)
    7. Duke (12-7)
    8. Purdue (8-5)
    9. UCLA (7-4)
    10. Cincinnati (6-4)
    11. Creighton (7-5)
    12. Louisville (12-10)
    12. (tie) Oregon (6-5)
    13. Wisconsin (7-7)
    13. (tie) Virginia (10-10)
    13. (tie) Arizona (6-6)
    14. Florida (4-7)
    14. (tie) Kentucky (5-8)
    15. Wichita State (0-5)

Now, SMU is currently in the AP top 20 but didn't make the list. Their record against the composite index is 4-3. So they would be tied for 12th place.

    NCAAB Tournament Winner

I'm liking West Virginia, I have kept an eye on this side all season. They are a very unassuming lot, no real flash-bangs, just really solid. They keep their head under pressure and they obviously believe in themselves and their Coach. They all contribute to the points board and move the ball around well looking for the best positioned player. I think their OT loss to Kansas was a real wake up call for them. "They were sucking the back tete" the whole game, playing catch up, and when the forced OT they lost focus. They'll look back at their 2 OT losses on the road and understand that they have to be prepared to go beyond the 40. Of course it all comes down to the rankings, but if they get through to the final four I think they'll have enough in the Tank to go all the way.

As much as I hate to say it I could see Duke making a run also.

All depends on seeding. The early seeding had Kansas, FSU and Zona in a region together I believe

The way I see it, it's better to choke and lose when it don't count for much, fear is the lack of experience and they have experienced both. They also don't pivot off one or two players which makes their case stronger, opposed to those teams that do rely on a star player and are vulnerable if they get injured. But all comes down to the rankings in the end.

Totally disagree. Nova won't repeat. It's too hard to do that and hart is asked to do too much. Wvu is a terrible foul shooting team and Kansas just isn't that good this year.

Florida and Kentucky will be lucky to make it to the sweet 16. Both are grossly overrated, as shown in my previous post about schedule performance.

I'm accounting for improvements throughout the season. Kentucky seems to be getting it together on the defensive end. The talent is there on offense. You can't count them out. Florida is playing better than anyone in the country lately.

That. I reserve my opinion until I check out the seeding and what the brackets will look like.

Early pick, I can see Kansas, UNC or Duke getting it going at the right time. All well coached teams. WVU as well I suppose. Too streaky for my taste.

Duke too shallow, erratic defensively, and no point guard. They can certainly get hot & that Tatum kid is a beast, but can't see them winning 6 straight in the tourney.

And can we just all agree that West Virginia has 0% chance of winning the championship? Seriously. They could be a tough out, especially as a Sat/Sun game where teams can't prepare for. But no way the win it all without a star pg, dominant big man, or virtually any NBA talent whatsoever...

Couldn't agree more! I wouldn't want to play them but no way they put that many wins together in a row. The KY hate I guess comes naturally but also helps show who really pays attention to teams and who just throws darts at teams and look at the final score. During that rough 4 game stretch half the team had the flu and 3 guards missed multiple games and weeks. ServPro was disinfecting their dorms on a daily basis trying to stop the spread. If they play defense they will go far, they can score with anyone. Is it march yet?

man im telling you. duke is putting it together. they are playing more cohesive. if they carry the way they have been playing into this tourny, they have a good chance of winning it. seems like all the players are heating up at the same time.
