    VMI is atrocious this year....

I think Butler wins this game by 30 pts...

I'm feeling the same way, especially if Butler go into the break with a 10-15 point lead..

Thoughts on western Ilinois +17.5?? Beat Wisconsin earlier in the season..thinking these guys could hang...

Has all the makings of a massive blowout.

Though VMI probably failed to cover large spreads more often during the Duggar Baucom era when they played routinely played 80-90 possession games and would basically just let the other team score and then shoot a 3 at the other end.

How that guy still has a D1 job is beyond me.

Haha man I know I used to routinely play their overs...

I just think Butler comes out and handles business easily. If they play their bench in second half (likely) they still have better players there than VMI starters.

I think Butler is literally it for me today.

Nova vs Okie is gonna be awesome... But for betting purposes, no thank you.

Am hoping to be able to watch game.

Would love to see Nova live up to their potential and finally win another title after 30 years of waiting.

Probably the best team right now though tonight will be their first real test against a team that is, I would guess, definitely going to the tournament.

Any thoughts on the Total of Okla/Nova Game.
Opened at 143. I jumped blindly this morning under 147.
    Now sitting at 145.

Thanks for your insights..I read your threads every day

I'm considering Brown +11 first half. They seem up for the game (based on twitter lol), Georgetown could be flat in a letdown spot, etc. Thoughts?

When I saw it around 147, I thought that was high as well... Two very good defensive teams here. Nova 1st in efficiency, Okie 6th... Both defend 2 and 3 ball exceptionally well. Both tend to defend around 18 secs per possession.

I could see pace getting up there at certain parts of game, especially if Okie gets hot from long range (Tbey shoot it at 45%)...
I could see both teams around 70 pts. So under not horrible.

I know very very little about brown... Gtown doesn't have another game until Saturday. So not a huge "letdown" type spot. And it'll be another game where they expect to win so they aren't gearing up for a big one.
That being said, taking 10+pts in first half not a bad idea at all.

Gtown gonna have length on them big time, but if brown can knock down some 3s, They can stay within 11 in first half.

Another good first half to look at would be buffalo:
Getting 13 pts in 1H here.
Iowa St tends to blow the game open in second half. Buffalo gave Duke some issues first half last time out and Iowa St not as sound defensively as Duke.
I would lean taking the pts.

Iowa state has the big in state rivalry on tap for Thursday..

I haven't caught a Butler game yet... How much you like that play? VMI does look bad... 27pt loss to Ohio St, 12pt loss to Penn St, and 24pt loss to Virginia Tech and they are really bad... Got a percentage on it? 75%?

VMI is always plagued by being made up of undersized guys as is the case with most military institutes and federal service academies.

Tough to see how they will be able to compete with a team of guys who are all there to play basketball in a power conference.

Butler also plays pretty small ball though. That being said, they play REALLY good small ball... I also don't think VMI will hang on. There are teams who run their offense and take it smooth when they got it **looking at you UK** and there are those relentless teams who love to score on their opponents many many times. Butler is in this category imo

Well... I bet 8 units on it.
    My average play is 3.

Purdue also looking tempting. Blowing out garbage opponents at home is almost as important as quality wins.

Failing to do so can create doubt about a teams elite status.

Less inclined in that one. Decent rivalry there.... They should cover but I'm staying away

Anyone have any thoughts here?? I'm leaning pretty heavily on it. Iowa state is great, yes. But alot of pts here for a decent team to be getting.

This is true. I try not to factor intangibles like rivalries, let down games, due factor etc. into my capping. They do mean something but I think they are vastly over emphasized and when they do affect games they often result in confirmation bias.

Purdue's margin of victory vs teams outside of the top 100 is 31.5 and have never won by less than 22. Won every game by 12+ including those on the road / neutral court against good teams.

IUPUI is the weakest team they have played so far this year and has a horrible defence while going up against the defence ranked second in the nation in efficiency. IUPUI also horrible on the road.

That's my angle. Not sure if I will play it though.

Baucom left for the Citadel and is doing the same thing there. The guy is a Military School Lifer..But I enjoyed watching VMI when he was there. Love any high tempo game.

    That was uncomfortably close.

Purdue looked like they had no hope of covering after being up 8 at half.

    Both win by 27.

Good things come to those who weight.
