I'm thinking someone from that Richmond region wins it.

    ^@Ted

    You would think.
Richmond is a good team, UConn finished their tourney strong before losing to SMU.
Arizona State has looked real good in spots this season, Illinois is a good team......

more opportunity to bet and make $

for NIT wagering the psychology/motivation and coaching angles can be huge so you really have to take the time to cap from those angles as well.

is the coach a good motivator?
    team makeup of upper/lower classmen
    how got snubbed?
who almost always plays in the big dance but will now be playing in a small tourney?
who has been hot, who has been cold?

Thing is the best teams in the NIT do not always play at their best because they may not want to be here after NCAA snub. This year though, Temple is the only team that I had in the NCAA that I see here at first glance, so the other three one-seeds have no reason not to play there best.

Edit: I would have had Colorado State in NCAA if not for the stolen bids. but Rams probably already knew they were out once Wyoming won MWC.

All those Murray State lovers thinking they should be in the big dance and they get a 3 seed in the NIT.

According to one of the chairs, Wyoming stole Temple's spot.

Would you rather be the last team in at large in the BIG DANCE or get some home games in the NIT and win something? Have a chance to go to MSG?? A lot of teams are going to be one and done in the Dance.

Anybody thought about the rule changes affecting scoring? For those of you that don't know, they're going to have a 30 second shot clock for the NIT. In addition, they're going to expand the restricted area under the basket from 3' to a 4' radius. I think this will result in some higher scoring games. May be something to keep in mind when betting the over/unders.

Do they have the same rule changes in the CBI and CIT tourneys as well?

Liking Montana +10.5 at Texas A&M. Also, NC Central getting 8.5 at Miami.

    Good luck all.

Very good defensive team. Decent shooting team. They play well on the road. They are 25-7, and undefeated in conference play (MEAC), but blew it in their tournament against Delaware State. They certainly don't play the same sort of competition as Miami, that is for sure. But this is a classic NIT play. The NIT is a Big Deal for a team like NC Central, and they are hungry after giving away their NCAA tourney ticket. For Miami, the NIT is a big letdown. Also -- warning -- I'm a line-watcher. It was a fishy small line to begin with, IMO, and now, with a solid majority of bets on Miami, line has moved from +9.5 to +8.5.

I normally agree with this, but this years Miami team didn't exactly expect a whole lot. Definitely more than last year, but I dont see it as a huge let down. They already knew they werent going to be in the tourney this year well before their last game IMO. I'll probably attend this game, so I may lay off it

You might be right. Sounds like you know the team. Enjoy the game. I hope it's a good -- close -- game.

    Question -

Who thinks ASU is going to come hard tonight as the Pac Ten's last representative in this tourney?

Also Tswizzle was answering if she wanted me right there but that's a story for another time.
