I learned some lessons over the past week of posting. some picks
1. detailed record keeping
2. Decide what kind of system you want to use. I'm thinking the unit system is the best method.
1-5 units makes more sense than 1-4 to me because 3 can be a standard play
like a unit would be like 25 or something
Todays games would look like
NBA
Toronto at Philadelphia over 194 2 units
Toronto -7.5 2 units
Warriors -5.5 3 units
Golden St at NJ under 206.5 3 units
Suns +3.5 5 units
Pelicans +7 4 units
Clippers team total over 102 5 units
suns at heat under 204.5 4 units
Bucks At Nuggets under 193.5 4 units
Margin of victory prop Dallas 1-3 +650 1 unit
Margin of victory prop Miami wins by 1-3 +600 1 unit
Margin of victory prop largest lead either team 14.5 under 3units
$1 for wade to have a triple double to win $250
This conveys much more information and makes more sense
Its about finding edges, but every play has different risk reward factors, it makes no sense to make the same
amount every play.
A couple of other things I learned, in the sec play the home team at around 70 percent of the time.
As well if you are going to make a first half play. For instance if the line is +9 you want to play the first half.
Its better to just play the whole game here. at the half you would have 4.5points but you leave your half point up in the air and are not playing it
If the line was 9.5 then you can get the first half line at +5
so don't take first half plays that have half points in them
For instance baylor +3 at texas if you wanted to make a first half play its a bad idea because you have +1.5
But if the line is baylor +3.5 you can play the first half at +2
Say the score is texas 36 baylor 34 at half the extra half point makes the difference.
The importance of getting on the right side of the line movement. smu at connecticut case in point.
Some people got uconn +3 others got smu-1
in the nba I could have got more points on the pelicans by waiting a little longer, and a half point with Baylor
or I get an edge with toronto -7.5
I noticed in conference usa I had to many road teams and got burned. Two days later adjusted to picking home teams and went 3-1 in the conference that day,so when sec games show up gonna get on the home teams more. Would like to see more teams from the sec have to travel to teams like Cal,
Kentucky only played 9 road games. That's not fair. It also gives you a huge academic advantage, you can play ball, and never miss a class, except for when the tourney starts.
