Rutgers went UNDER easily in each of the last two games, and we look for that streak to continue today.
The Scarlet Knights are struggling offensively this season hitting on just 39.5 percent of their shots from the field overall, and they went a dismal 18 for 61 from the floor in a 68-58 loss here at home to Syracuse on Wednesday. That came on the heels of a 19 for 47 performance in an excruciating 54-42 win at Cincinnati in the prior game, so it is not as if Rutgers games are just squeaking UNDER the total.
Now DePaul may be averaging 71.4 points per game, but the UNDER is a perfect 3-0 since the start of Big East play. The Blue Demons went a horrendous 19 for 55 in a 59-49 home loss to Pittsburgh on Wednesday, and we cannot simply dismiss that effort as a bad-shooting night in light of an even worse 19 for 58 performance in the DePaul Big East opener at St. John’s. At the same time, the Demon defense is limiting opponents to 40.7 shooting this year, adding more fuel to the UNDER here.
