alot of posts on this, go to nba section. They got shaq, kristac, j oneal, davis and now they are more athletic and younger with jeff green. He also wanted money he was not going to get..

People keep saying boston would of won last year if perkins wasn't hurt, but they also didnt have shaq or j o neal last year.

Boston would of won with jeff green last year too

    How could they trade Perkins?

    A) Fukked up knee that will never be healthy

    B) Wants $10/mil a year

    C) Horrible temperment

    D) Offensive liability (not that Doc is asking him to score 20+ a game)

    E) Celtics need to get younger eventually, Perkins is the short-term cost

All players in bold are dead bodies. Kristac is Euro trash, that doesnt even have a dependable jumper.

Jeff Green is a crappier version of Kevin Durant.

Have you watched Shaq at all this year? He's done really well. Only reason he isn't playing is because they want to save him for the playoffs

JOneal very well might not be healthy for playoffs tho

If you a going to depend on Shaq to play big minutes, and to stay healthy for the long haul. You are taking a major risk.
The Big three will have to shoulder major minutes, thus wearing them down for the playoffs.

That's an awesome trade for Boston. It helps them prep for when the Big 3 move on and also presents the possibility that Troy Murphy signs with Boston later. They made some ground shaking moves, but definitely raised their talent level. I'd take Green and Kristic over Perkins any day of the week.

anyone that had a boston future bet should buyout of it now. This team has no chance to compete in the playoffs or in a potential final. Right around the time when the big 3 came together, everyone agreed that the big 3 by themselves would not win a title, they needed a true big man and a PG. Rondo filled the PG role and Perkins filled the big man role. People don't understand how vital Perkins is to this team. A great defensive player that rebounds and does all the dirty work. He'll even get you a couple of low post baskets. Who is going to guard Dwight Howard for an entire series? Perkins was the presence inside that nobody on the current roster can replace. Shaq? the guy is way past his prime and the guy is struggling to stay healthy.

Kristac's jumper is the best part of his game sucka... He can knock down the 15-18 ft. jumper with consistency.

it looks horrible at first glance but Doc Rivers isn't dumb....obviously has something up his sleeve and Green should be able to help Pierce guarding Lebron

This trade helps them match up better with a team like Miami but worse against a team like Orlando with Howard...I would say Miami>>>>Orlando so the trade isn't as bad as it looks

Thats the point the best part of his game is trash. Besides, name one Euro player that a jumper is not their strength. Darko?

    Season averages

    7pts 5rebounds 0 assist 0 blocks 21 minutes per game

I think OKC will regret this trade, and their GM should be fired.

    Now that would be awesome.

Still wouldn't be surprised to hear Celts bring in Sheed for a workout and see if he can give them minutes for a playoff run.

I'm surprised the Celts didn't go after someone like Camby or Pryzibilla. They don't need offense, just someone to rebound and play some defense. I'm not sure if Camby is still hurt or not, but Pryzibilla would have fit the bill nicely. Now he's been traded, though.

So the OKC GM trades away a guy averaging 7/5/0/0 in return for a big man and a 3pt specialist, both of which they dearly need and he should be fired...

OKC has put together a very good team and hasn't made many mistakes in drafting the last few years. THeir GM is doing a fine job. Taking Jeff Green so highly was a mistake and they just traded him but hindsight is always 20/20, guess we'll see how this turns out.

this is a great trade for OKC, they now have a legit center to match up with the lakers.

    You didnt get my sarcasm???

I was responding to your post, about Kristic's strong point is his jumper.

    Lets just stop the conversation.

My Celts fukked themselves, OKC a huge winner in this trade. Kristic is trash, and while Green gives them their probably only offensive threat of the bench now, he is way too inconsistent.

OKC didn't draft Green... the Celtics did, then traded him, Delonte, and Wally for Ray Allen and Big Baby. Now all but Wally are with the Cs, ironically enough.

The effect of this trade will only be seen when we see who else the Celtics sign to fill out their last 3 spots.

And Green is going to be getting a lot minutes, resting Pierce/Allen down the stretch to save them for the playoffs

im pretty sure the main reason for this trade was the hole that teh marquis daniels injury left. boston already has alot of bigs and needed a backup for peirce.

Euro trash? Can you please define that? I understand that you see him as a trash player, but I wonder about the Euro part...

They traded 2 bigs (and a rookie PF) and got 1 in return, with 3 open roster spots... how is that trading all their bigs?

Still have Shaq, Jermaine, KG, Baby, plus Krstic and whoever else they sign
