Suns 25/1 to win West pretty good value..Yes?

Just went to sportsbook.com and put a bet on Suns at 25/1 to win west.

Think theres some good value there with way they have played last couple months.

    Thoughts?

They cant win the west. They have been playing well but they wont win the west. They are 5th best at best.

25/1 is good odds to me mate. Not saying they'll win, but good odds to profit from none the less.

Just checked with my bookie and the odds are 17/1 so you definately got value in your play.

It doesn't matter if its 1000/1. There is no value in a guaranteed loss.

here you are again bashing an obvious chance for a good hedge. didnt you learn your lesson with Butler?

If lopez returns 100% the suns have a good chance of ending up in the conference finals. If he doesnt they can still make a deep run. Either way they are the hottest team in a tight western conference with a hall of fame pg, a hall of fame forward in his prime and red hot outside shooters. 1000/1, you prove yourself to be an @ss so often my friend

As a bonus the lakers are in a slump and could very well get knocked out in the second round

You are an idiot. You should really get your shit straight before you start talking. You obviously have me confused with somebody else. You are the one making an ass of yourself by making false statements to the wrong person. You should really make sure you're talking to the right person before you jump down their throat. Here is a link to your thread. Perhaps you should go refresh your memory. Also by saying 1000/1 I was obviously exaggerating. I am well aware of the potential hedging opportunity here but it doesn't exist IMO. Coloradobuff asked for our thoughts and I'm giving him mine. Phoenix will not make the conference finals imo and unless there is value in hedging in the first round then this is a no play for me......

A 100 team parlay for $1 to win $ 1 million theoretically has good value, doesn't it?

"Value" is the most overused word used on this site.

Someone define "value"; it's just arbitrary.

To me, it's relatively good payout + relatively good chance to win OR high probability of profit in the long-run.

Value is something you get in return now the only way to make your fantasy bet fit this category is to bet your risk amount on a solid play

I personally think Phoenix is in a very good position to have a good shot at winning the western conference title. They are showing great team chemistry, can obviously score well and have definately improved on the defensive end. Plus they are playing with great inspiration and confidence as of late.

they can easily end up in the conference finals. and it would be hedge city if they did. it would be a very good payout as well cause LA would only be -225 and Dallas -175............personally i think the NBA finals will be Cavs vs Suns/Mavs

I know this much if Spurs can get past Dallas they will take the Lakers out cause they match up the best so C'mon Spurs do the Jazz's dirty work and then they will thank you by knocking you out

Utah would play the Lakers before the Spurs. As for Phoenix yes they have been playing very well and they are impressing everyone including me (and I hate them) but lets not forget that Phoenix has been pretty darn good in years past and has not been able to win in the playoffs. Please nobody bring up the Horry incident and how Phoenix shoulda won blah blah blah....

Lakers always plays surviving weakest link Spurs are the 7th seed and if they beat Dallas they are playing the Lakers

I did after the Spurs beat the Lakers which is the only scenario I see of the Jazz having a chance to win the west which is pretty slim but I believe no matter what if the Spurs don't play the Lakers well then the Lakers are going again.... just a vision quest of my own that's all

It is worth a long shot, but with sporadic defense at best, I dont think they can do it.

Suns to win west at 25 to 1 is worth a shot.. they might not win it all, cause of the Cavs, but the west is doable... good luck

pretty tough without a true big man. maybe if gasol/bynum and heyward/dampier went down the rest of the west would have a chance.

I've got $200 on Phoenix @ +5000 to win it all. Really want to make the most of my hedging opportunities even though I'd love to see Steve Nash holding the trophy.

These Suns are just like the ones that lost in the Western Conference finals two years in a row. They can score a lot but lack defense and a true center. Once they get in the playoffs teams will be clamping down on D and will not let them dictate the tempo and Phoenix is terrible setting up its offense outta the half court set, If you can get Phoenix in a half court set and throw a zone at them they cant score nearly as well or easily as they do in the regular season match-ups. I like Portland to give them fits and if they had a healthy Roy I would like them to take the series.
