NBA opinion: Regular Season is too long

This is a comment that's shown up on the msg-boards before. Been following NBA closer of late. Think it needs to be re-considered.

Here's my stance on it. Whole league should play H2H Home/Away. Have maybe one extra round of H2H games within your division.

    My math says:
    *58 games H2H
    *8 more in the Division
    ...That's 66 games.

You want 10 more Conf games? OK, that's 76. But it's less than 82.

Most of the Regular Season games are garbage. The lower-end teams are truly woeful. If you need more games, do it in the post-season.

Two observations about MOST Regular Season games:
    1) These teams are banged-up. A lot of guys are worn out.
    2) Players under contract largely don't care, as long as the check cashes.

The Play-In games were well-received. Bump that up from One-offs to Mini-series:

    *3-game mini-series for 7vs10 and 8vs9.

    What do you think?

Will the players take an according pay cut to the games played?

    This.
There's maybe, maybe just one game a week I would label 'must see'. and most of the times those games don't live up to the hype.

I like Sacramento, I love the Fox-Sabonis combo, if the Kings are the 10:30 pm late game here, I'll tune in if there isn't anything else worthwhile to do.

Sabonis is having a career season, and IMO is the leagues most underrated player.

I love what Boston is doing, I'll tune in to a Celtic game if the matchup is compelling.
Same with OKC, that's a fun team to watch too.

Philly was barely watchable with Embid, without him, no thanks.
Even though Maxey, like Sabonis is having a career season.

I can't watch the boring Miami Heat.
I dare you to make me watch Detroit or Portland, I dare you.

Salud, Nash. One marketable big-game per week.

Ton of games that are un-watchable. And I love Sabonis, great player.

they fixed load management but being forced to play they just jog up and down the court at times

Agree, John. WASH is one of the worst teams I've seen. If I didn't know better, I'd say they're trying to lose.

One other comment which leads me to this conclusion. I really do think they should down-size the schedule. 76 games (with slightly broader Playoffs) over the same period of time makes sense to me.

These players are breaking down. Take a look at the Injury Lists, especially on the lesser teams. They are getting crushed by Injuries, which leads me to think they're having over-use problems.

Already a triple-double halfway through the third quarter.
    12 points 10 assists 17 rebounds.
    (Are you freaking kidding me)?
Those are Jokic numbers, and he's having a Jokic MVP type season!

Shame is Kings are up 30, if this was a closer game he easily 20/15/25.

I'm assuming Sabonis, Fox, and Murray's nights are done.

Need Affirmative Action to step up to the plate and allow more Caucasians to earn an honest living shooting hoops.

There's no place for systemic racism in the sports world.

All four leagues should knock about 20% off the regular season and take division winners only for the playoffs with a wild card, if necessary, to make an even four.

Yeah, that's what I thought.... I ask Drunk Horse Penetrator a simple question and he goes radio silent cause he realized he was talking out of his butthole.

Will give a few more comments on how this impacts the betting:

    1) Have to wait for Injury news.
    2) Try to get in at the right # w/ partial injury news.
    3) Betting these Bottom 10 teams is almost impossible at ANY number. Seemingly doesn't matter, they're that bad.
