Larry Bird playing a game left-handed was the highlight of the night, as he posted 47 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists to lead Boston past Portland in overtime (120-119). In spite of scoring with both hands, Larry Bird played a game left-handed and that was proof of how good he was.

Chet Holmgren might have broken the drought. If he can stay healthy.

What's Slayer's next thread gonna be.. "How good was Bernie Kosar?"

Current events obviously not his strong suit.

As a Laker fan, I hated him but he was a fukkin killer. One of the all time shit talkers with the game to back it up.

You guys talking about great white basketball players are forgetting Doncic and Joker and clearly Austin Reeves.

    That right Jib-
to quote Pat Riley “if I had to pick one player to take a shot to save a game, I’d pick Michael Jordan. If I had to pick one player to take a shot to save my life… I’d pick Larry Bird.”

In the 80's, Bird was easily the best 3 point shooter in the game. Today, he's about 170th on the list of all time 3 pt. FG pct; what was spectacular back then is routine today.

Larry Bird today and in his prime would be a different and a better player just because of today's diet, shoes, recovery treatment, workouts, etc like the players do today. Bird would still dominate the league and his back would be treated much better then in the 80's.

He'd be better then Luka Doncic I'd bet on it.

    Boss, you from Boston?

I really question anyone who doubts Bird. IMHO, he read the game better than anyone (with the possible exception of Magic). Un-selfish, constantly looking for the optimal play.

Consider the balance of Pts/Reb/Ast. Name me a player in league history who was:
    1) 6'9" or taller, and
    2) With those passing skills.

That answer = Bird + Magic. Can't be anyone else.

And Magic wasn't a great outside shooter early in his career. He worked on it more later in his career.

For productivity from an NBA forward, Larry is on a very short list. If you include Erving's high-flying ABA days, I might even allow Erving/Bird to be graded a Draw.

Watch the NBA finals from 1977. Portland won b/c they were a good passing team and played un-selfishly. Philly lost because they weren't great passers and because there were too many individuals.

Rodders thinks Kim Jong Un is a really cool guy. You just need to get to know him apparently! Once he gives you free drugs & women you will not mind that he is starving his people.

Indeed he is an idiot. Before and after the drugs, but especially after. His opinion on anything means zilch.

Nice. One of a kind, IMHO.

Larry talked about the Garden crowds pumping him up. "Larry, Larry."

I really think it took him to a different level. Allowed him to play thru the back injury.
