A Mark Jackson playing card was going for a quarter on Ebay. Now going for $15 to $20

All because someone realized the Menendez Brothers were in the background.

90-91 hoops part of the mass production days. basically started the 1990s downfall of cards....can get a box at your local card shop for 25$ most likely and try and hit a few of these

Reminds me of Patrick Kane’s first hockey card.

He was only 6 years old.

everything from the 1990s was garbage except for a few cards like kobe or a few jordans that are worth some money...but everything was so mass produced and nothing limited to numbers or autographed, just garbage inserts in every pack

the card market is actually back and stronger than ever...I watch these guys on facebook called Grand Slam Collectibles open boxes of cards that are 50-1000$ a box but they all have cards that can be worth money, and the super rare cards now are limited to low numbers and even down to 1 of 1s....some cards from Trout, Judge, Mahommes can sell for up to 20 grand.....ohtani cards during the early part of this year were going for 20-50k

I should have at least 25-50 of those cards. I was a baseball card show promoter back in the early 90"s and I had tables at all of hte major shows.

I wonder who figured it out and if they had the foresight to buy a million of the cards before saying anything.

why would i lie about that?

i had a collection of star wars cards, and that one was actually a lot less rare than when they eventually fixed it. there are probably millions of those floating around, it was just a common card that all of us laughed at as kids, but never really thought it was worth anything until ebay came around.

cheap ass dad carried him in so he didn't need to buy an extra ticket

"They were allowing me to carry Patrick in there till he was 7 or 8. Right before we went in the gate I would pick him up just to get another person in"

eBay has begun pulling listings of a fairly common and inexpensive 1990-91 Hoops basketball card featuring former New York Knicks guard Mark Jackson following the revelation that notorious killers Lyle and Erik Menendez appear to be seated courtside in the photo.

According to sports trading card magazine Beckett, eBay has begun to pull listings of the Jackson basketball card, telling sellers it is against the website’s policy to sell an item affiliated with murders or serial killers.

“Affiliated with means items that are directly associated with the person,” eBay said in a email to sellers. “This can include (but is not limited to) objects like photographs, paintings, action figures, flags, sculptures, pins, books authored by the person, items they have owned, etc.”

Despite the emails, there were several listings for the basketball card on eBay Tuesday morning. One seller even had a lot of 30 cards with bids above $340. There are also listings of sports cards for players who have been convicted of murder, including former Panthers wide receiver Rae Carruth and former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez.

“From what we’ve been hearing, eBay doesn’t like being associated in news stories as the place to sell your memorabilia and novelty items of serial killers,” said Ryan Veres of Burbank Sportscards, which continues to sell the card for $34.99.
