It's really hard to compare players from 25-35 years ago vs today because the game has change in so many ways from hand-checking rule being instituted, the 3 second rule, 3 point line, etc. Hell guys like Oscar Robertson were friggin deadly and young people today don't even know who the heck he is

I'll take Bird in his prime. Prolly didn't handle it as well but (but wasn't playing against midgets), but that big man could score inside and outside AND PASS. From anywhere. I believe they changed the rule or made one about shooting from behind the backboard.

The bottom line is you can't compare eras. Today's game, today's rules, and today's talent pool are completely different. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say today's players may be more talented in many areas, but I don't think Curry would last taking the physical beating on the court each game and playing in the ENTIRE post season battles year after year after year. Lebron has a field day with today's game and the touch fouls. You don't think Bird would have been better and better longer if they played with today's rules? I'd like to see how Curry would shoot three months into one season catching real body contact.

but the guy was a GREAT rebounder, people don't really even talk about that. Guy had Parrish and Mchale on his team and he still averaged 11.0 rebounds a game one year.

right at 10.0 rebounds per game over his career, which puts him right at 50th all time in that category.

which puts him a tad below Karl Malone at 10.14 and Bob Lanier at 10.11 and a tad above Patrick Ewing at 9.81 and Bill Laimbeer at 9.74

He had Tourette's. He is from Gulfport mississippi. Made like 250 free throws in a row in high school just standing there. He was an amazing exciting college player at lsu. Averaged 30 his fresh year. I saw him play against ole miss here in oxford and ole miss had an all American named world class Gerald glass. Rauf (chris jackson then) scored 55 and glass had 53. Om won by two. Most amazing fukkin game I have come close to witnessing. Both guys played in nba a while. This was around 1989/1990.

Steve Nash, other all-time greats believe Stephen Curry might be best shooter ever




Stephen Curry is the 2015 NBA MVP. He has favored to be an NBA champion. And yet, he's 6-foot-3, 190 pounds and plays a position that doesn't often dominate games.

What's behind his effectiveness? One of the reasons is his prodigious shooting ability. The son of great NBA marksman Dell Curry put up a 48.7 field-goal percentage/44.3 3-point percentage/91.4 free-throw percentage line this season, while attempting 17, eight and four per game, respectively.

All of this got Ric Bucher of Bleacher Report to ask five of the NBA's greatest shooters ever -- Steve Nash, Rick Barry, Kiki Vandeweghe, Chuck Person and Dana Barros -- where the man some call "Chef" ranks among the league's greatest long-range cooks.

According to Nash, Vandeweghe, Person and Barros: He's probably No. 1.

Barros: "You could make a case for him as the best ever. You'd have a harder time making the case against him."

Person: "I don't think there's ever been anybody better."

Vandeweghe, on Curry's 2014-15 season in particular: "Comparing year to year, people at their peak, I've never seen anyone better."

And Nash: "Truly, from the eye test, he's the greatest there's ever been."
