    Can the Bulls beat the Heat in a playoff series this year?

    I'm a huge Bulls fan, and I thought they'd get their asses kicked tonight, but boy they sure came through tonight even tho they were shorthanded. That being said, does anyone in their right mind really think they can beat the Heat this year in a playoff series? I think it's damn near impossible without Rose. And with Rose it's doubtful still.

    Well we learned they can certainly play them tough....but 7-game series, I still doubt it. Alot of pressure was on Miami today and almost no pressure on the Bulls - so that definitely is a factor. In playoffs, that won't be the case.

    And also, tonight was just a once in a blue-moon offensive display from the Bulls. That strong first half where they were making every shot helped them when reality kicked in 2H - because they had a comfortable lead and could play strong defense to keep it close. Miami won't slack in playoff time on their defense and it'll be hard for Bulls to have this kind of a performance 4 times against them.

    bulls would get swept
    a team on a 27 game winning streak is not likely to play as hard as the team trying to knock them off
    it was gonna happen sooner or later

    Nobody will beat them best of 7. Even getting to a 7th game is probably asking a bit much I think. B2b is inevitable!

    The Bulls should tank the rest of the season for a better draft pick. The team is going nowhere.

    It's too late to tank out of the playoffs. They might be able to tank to a shittier seed like 7th seed or worse and get a slightly better pick, but probably nothing dramatic. They're not gonna have a worse record than Philly (I think they're #9 & not making the playoffs). The Bulls are gonna be in the playoffs for sure.

    A team on a 27 game winning streak is not likely to play as hard? They're 6 games away from tying the record and you don't think they're playing as hard as the Bulls? That was just a dumb statement. Heat gave it their all and lost.

    The draft is terrible this year so no need to tank anything. If Rose comes back there is no reason why they can't hang with the Heat in a 7 game series. We match up well against them because of our big men and we defend well. Miami is going to find it hard to play against the Bulls, Pacers, and Celtics because of their size. It's a real mismatch for Miami when they play a team with big men.

    They will need another consistent scorer even if Rose come back. Bulls don't have enough offence. I don't think the likes of Deng, Boozer or Belinelli are consistent enough when comparing them to Bosh, Battier or Allen.

    @Ambition.. only problem is if or when Rose comes back this year he's gonna need time to get going and get full confidence in that knee. You can really tell with him the way he sounds its gnna bother him mentally for awhile if nothing else.

    in layman terms:

    ROSE = SCARED

    Yes he is but that's pretty normal and any athlete will tell you that. That is only part of the equation though. Anytime you have a year long layoff for anything it will take some time to get back in the groove again. It is possible we don't see the "real" D. Rose until next season.

    I agree about the real Rose won't be seen till next year. That's why he might as well sit out till then. Bulls team not really built to win it yet anyway. But to put it in perspective imagine the equivalent injuries to Miami if they had suffered what Bulls have. Say Lebron was out for the season and Wade was banged up along with Bosh each missing a lot of games. Miami would not have had the kind of year they have had. It would have been interesting to see what this Bulls team with all hands on deck for the season would have done. Of course we can't ever know. Sure Miami will probably win it again this year but it won't be a cakewalk either.
