I think greatest team ever is taking it too far, but certainly they are an amazing team who play a brand of basketball that you don't see much in the NBA (or really period) anymore.

I said this in the other "Are the Spurs the best team ever if they go undefeated thread"....

    ...
    ...
    ...

    Arguably, Yes.

Closest comp would be 96 Bulls.. They would have ended the season as Champions winning 36 of their last 38 games (36-2) and one of those losses came with Ginobili, Parker, and Duncan all having a day off.

    11-12 Spurs:
    Total Record - 50-16
    Playoff Record: 16-0

    95-96 Bulls:
    Regular Season: 72-10
    Playoff Record - 15-3

The Spurs Team also played in a much tougher league, having to go through Clippers (Blake, Paul), Thunders (Heck, their entire team is sick), & Miami Heat (LeBron, Wade, Bosh) .... (Much more loaded teams with multiple stars on each team)..

while Chicago went through Heat (Mourning), Orlando (Shaq), and Seattle (Kemp, Peyton)

I would gladly love to offer you some grammar lessons JJ. I just stay in shock that a degenerate who spends 99% of his life typing in front of a computer on this site can't improve his basic English skills and spell yet. WTF?

They have not even reached the NBA Finals yet. This conversation can't even begin until they have won a championship. Miami could sweep Boston and sweep San Antonio and then you will have to change the title of this thread to "Is Miami the greatest team we have ever seen?". I understand you said "asssuming they win out", but there are still too many variables that are currently undecided. Have patience.

    best thing about this team.

when they went up 20 last night, Manu was literally screaming at his team mates pointing to his head yelling "keep your heads in the game!!"

Bulls 2 of the top 5 defenders of all-time, plus wherever you wanna rank Rodman.......top 30 at worst.

Spurs have no shutdown defenders and have terrible on the ball defense

Hello Fellas, yes this is my first post.Been here for 3 years, gambling every day.
Got hooked with "My Sports" by Paco during baseball. Paco had a great summer handicapping and I tailed my butt off.

Greatest NBA team ever is the question, right.

If you don`t want to go back to prehistoric times (before 1981), there are only three teams in the debate:
    1) 1986 Celtics. A healthy Bill Walton coming off the bench. Pat Riley quote " maniacal" The green team (2nd squad) had Wedman
Sichting,Sam Vincent and a rookie Rick Carlisle.LB,Mac,Chief,DJ,Ainge all at 100%.
    2) 1987 Lakers.Coop,M.Thompson,Rambis let Magic lead the "ballet".Worthy,Byron and a motivated Kareem.+Riley.
    3) 1996 Bulls.72-10.BUT the league wasn`t the same.Great defense though, so they could have hung with those teams above.

Stop the nonsense please with flavor of the day.

they have a good team this year, but can't see them winning a championship. if they beat okc. i just don't see the heat letting anther title pass them by. bosh is a huge factor of course, even though heat can easily get by boston without him they need his presence vs the spurs. still a question-mark, but i think they are getting more optimistic he may be ready in a couple weeks?

I thought I was the biggest Jonah of all time but you may have topped me here. Although I did disown the Red Sox in 2004 down 3-0 vs NYY which is pretty tough to beat. However turning a 19 game win streak is into a 3 game losing streak is pretty good.
