Stern Cannot Have Spurs Play Indy In Finals..What does he do????

    Good chance of it happening

Will be lowest rated finals of all time..maybe even one of lower rated playoff series in a while

Are you suggesting an all-in play on Miami next game?

Boston will be there. Indy is moot, although they may become America's Team if they beat Miami. Boston is infinitely more interesting than any of the East teams anyway because they can hammer the Big 3/3.5 and how their window might be closed after this year. NBA wants it/needs it, so it shall be.

Why not? Indiana had the leagues 2nd lowest attendance this year and has a huge untapped sports market. Don't you think Peyton Manning and the Colts have done ok marketing wise? Did you see how pumped up the crowd was? Revenues for the Pacers were pretty good during the Reggie Miller era and they were on their way back but the city understandably turned on a team full of brawling knuckleheads so Bird had to blow it up...and now they're finally a strong basketball team again ready to fill that untapped midwest sports market. Don't you think that between LAC being relevant, two LA teams making it to the second round after two 7 game series and Linsanity ($$$) the NBA has already done pretty well this year anyways?

Also, don't you think a team with stars from France, Argentina, Bahamas, and Brazil helps with the globalization of the NBA?

Indy? C'mon - Bostons to lose if Miami is out.

Boston keeps stern happy, regardless of LeBrons failing.

If Sterns business model is centered around LeBron championship, that would speak volumes as to why the NBA is failing.

    They are b2b right?

Game 1 or nothing. Can't see them hanging around in game 4.

If they lose game 3 do they get run out of the gym game 4?

David Stern has to be getting nervous now

The possibility of a San Antonio or OKC vs. Indiana NBA finals is a real possibility now. David Stern couldn't quite let that ratings disaster of a final happen, can he? Though OKC would be slightly better ratings wise than San Antonio, its looking more and more like Indiana is the team to beat in the East.

Watch Stern act quickly to find a way to get Miami/both LA teams into the next round.

Trust me I too have accused the NBA of being like wrestling in the past. Would not surprise me one bit if there was some kind of outside influence on what happens on the court.

I don't see why ratings would be bad. I love watching Indiana play, and the Spurs are the highest scoring team in the league. This would be extremely high quality basketball.

Spurs Pistons was the lowest tv ratings of all time real though one of my favorite personally, Spurs always have bad ratings.

    Spurs v Knicks was fun.

NBA jobbed the Spurs in the early years with breathing too close to Koby fouls. I don't think the NBA will job the Spurs now. They have won 4 of the last 13 NBA titles. Plus they have two legitimate Hall candidates starting with 3 rings each and throw in the coach of the year for good measure.

But I do buy the theory that the NBA wants either Miami or Boston. Refs will be under pressure to not 'miss any calls against Miami'. I don't think Indiana can beat both Miami and the slightly bias calls they are sure to see from here. Boston won't need any help but they will get some if needed.

Indiana and san antonio have small nba markets. Nobdoy from the large markets would watch, they only watch their teams.
