    Same thing happened alot last year, in college and pro, books know people will bet because of these situations and those teams spread are inflated, whether at home or on the road. Houston giving away that many points when even good playoff teams have been losing in New Orleans or barely escaping lately.

    I like how a lot of people like the Suns -1.5 for the second half, myself included, and Pinny was giving them away at -1 (-117).

    I have no bet on the game but I'm tempted to take LA live based on principal here.

    The other angle is to think about the opposing team and their motivation to keep a team out of the playoffs, especially if their not making it themselves.

    Yeah, you are right. I originally liked Phoenix in this game knowing LA was the better team. Like you said, it doesn't really mean much in the NBA.

    The only thing holding me back was the fact that Phoenix was -2 at home. When a team is -2 at home and you bet on them, you might as well flush your money down the toilet.

    Also, at halftime Pinny had the Suns at -1 (-117) while other books had the Suns at -1.5.

    Basically, both of these things were strong indicators to me not to touch Phoenix. Ironically, it's only a 1 point game but I almost feel like LA has already won.

    This game will come down to the final minute since it's a TNT game. It seems like a ton of people were on Phoenix so Paul will probably get a call or hit a shot to break their hearts.
