    Paying bills betting..

For March....Ok, i've been betting for about 6 years. This is my first attempt at paying my monthly bills with strictly sports betting winnings. I will start with the primary bills this month. Then add in more misc. bills as I am successful. My bills are rent-$773, cable-$156, cell-$165 and lights-$110....totaling $1,204.
I have a substancial enough bankroll to cover bigger bets, but i do not wish to eat huge chunks away trying this. I will start with $100 bets...and will go from there. I do everything from su to teasers. With the current bb season, I generally stick with two team teasers. Thats a little about me, good luck to everyone betting.

i'm moving in 7 months...ive been daring myself to take this step, or stop betting. i figure here it starts..if i can't get it together after 6 years of warming up basically, then i need to realize it will always be a hobby.

I look at sports handicapping in a similar light as the market. people have no control on what their investments will do..youre essentially betting on a stock to do well. i apply the principles of investing into handicapping. here though, its a much larger risk/reward scenario. look at this first bet..$100 to win $76...thats a 76% return on my investment...you cannot get that on the market! im well aware of the differences, and both handicapping & investing is much more complicated, but im not here to write a book. i need a place to force myself to keep track, and allow myself an outlet to discuss this journey. thanks again if youre logging in to this thread.

    Ok..
i was just now able to place that bet. the lines changed a bit, and i used an $20 freeplay i had too.
so the official play is $121.92 to win $96.58..minus $20 freeplay..
    2 team 6 pt teaser...pacers pk, & xavier +13.5

I'll be logging back in awhile later, around 12-1ish. Best of luck to all those placing bets.

Alright, just got home. For today i profited $98.50. I know its not the big money win, but the goal is to pay bills. I'm going to try to keep that from getting away from me. I'm not trying to win the lottery, although that'd be nice, but slowly progress into professional handicapping.

Appreciate the love. I realize this goal is like any rare profession, only a very small fraction of people..maybe a few hundred in the world are actually able to do it as a full time job. Would i like to be like Billy Walters?..from his dedication to handicapping and success, of course i would. The idea of having $3-4 million on the line throughout a betting week...that blows my mind. Its a rarity to have the overall success someone like that has carved out. I love sports..man i am a pure fanatic. Do what you love...isnt that what we're told as kids? Funny if they knew I'd take to like this...betting..just funny. People waste months, shit, i've wasted years trying to figure out what other profession i could do long term. I mean, i've thrown years to just trying to figure out to make it through the day. So if people look at this, and say its a waste of time...it'll never happen. Maybe they're right. But I've done so much stupid shit i didn't enjoy quite as much. So I'll give it a go. Happy hunting to those looking for that big win..i wish you all the luck in the world.

I no losing is part of it. I've already built up a bankroll treating it as a hobby these past few years. What i'm doing now is using that bankroll to see if i'm able to actually do these to pay the bills. If i were to loose all of the bank i have, I'll quit. I'm not just starting out, hoping to figure this out. I've been working on my plays, my handicapping abilities the past few years. This is the first time i'm actually wanting to treat it as a job....at first part time, then seeing if it leads to full time work. I get that it can suck you in. Thats how i got to this point I started betting, then a few months in i hit two 4 team parlays in a 3 week period..paying out $3,700 and $5,800 roughly. I was hooked..and what happened..i did one solid $3,000 payout, and started slowly losing the rest on dumb parlays. I then started trying other bets, and it was up and down. It was like that for awhile...then i cashed out what i had left...about $500, and stopped for a bit. I started back up..and it always went up & down like you'd expect. This went on for years..it was more a hobby, never thought of it as business. At the end of the 10 football season i started actually trying to handicap. And now, i'm here. It hasnt been all peachy for me. I get the ebbs and flows of it. But in 7 months my life is about to dramatically change. And i'd like to give this a shot since i have the disposable funds at hand. Thats why i found this forum. I wanted an outlet to help figure out what im doing, and to do my best to keep track. I greatly appreciate the advice, and concern. I know just how much things can grab ahold of you and unravel your life...i've been there. But with this, I have a gameplan..if it fails, i'm out. Will i bet for fun here & there...sure..But to try this and fail when this is my best shot, and i've done all this warmup, I'll know for sure then i'm making the right decision to move on. Again, thanks for reading through. Whether youre being cynical, or genuine, i still appreciate the concern.

My advice is to put that BR you've built up in a savings account & keep sports betting as a hobby. Trying to do this to pay bills just creates pressure to double up when a losing streak hits. Good luck tho.

i'm not going to diagree..i cant lose what ive won if i dont play..keep the money safe and it'll be there. I know doubling down, or progressive betting will get you killed. What i've learned is for me, its pure handicapping. Can i consistently in a given month make enough picks to do this long term. Some days i'll have picks, others i wont. Some days i will play twice the bet as i did the previous days. I vary everything accordingly. I'm not looking to create a chase system, or anything. Streaks will happen, bad and good. My job will to be to contain and manage them both when they do occur. One thing i think everyone in every aspect of gambling agrees on is the importance of bankroll management. Again, thats partly why im here...to help keep myself grounded. To be able to look at what im thinking, what ive done..all that nonsense that goes on in our heads.

Now thats definitley top notch advice..appreciate that. The paying bills up a few months is something already done. I been through the pawn sh*t..chasing a different addiction though. Life is a crazy bitch. We all have stories. I love listening to people, hearing what theyve been through, then trying to find the ways to avoid those mistakes. I have already made that a priority though. i have saving set aside to pay bills and all that. This is not me trying to use rent money or anything to gamble with. I am using my actual bankroll..money that has been strictly won from doing this the past few years. I have kept it separate from every aspect of my life. I will not dabble into my actual real life..paying bills, eating food money. Thats a no no..and if all my bankroll is lost in this attempt, i will no longer chase this dream. Like i said before, 7 months.. i want to see if i can slowly move to paying all my bills, plus extra in that timeframe. Good advice for anyone trying to take a risk...have your basic need (food, rent, etc.) set aside and and least 3 months saved up.

Knew a guy who did this and was successful. I became so caught I tailed and forgot money management. I lost loads he made $$$. Best advise don't reach just because you are short of your monthly goal. 70% there is better than forcing it and only reaching 50%. Love the idea, "Living the dream". I'll follow your thread and BOL.

Lovinlife...thats a good thought. I hadnt really set up a what if scenario...like what if its the end of the month and i have $900...basically 25% less than my goal. Itd definitely be a situation where i try to avoid forcing myself to get the rest. Again, thats sort of a good problem to have ya know. If i make it there, i'll be keeping that advice in mind. Thanks again...happy hunting

thats a lose for the first half of the day. I placed another teaser, 4 team 6pt teaser..Orlando -2, OKC/76ers over 186, LaSalle +3, Ohio ST -1.5..pays 2 to 1. I placed the balance from today, $90 to win $180
I realize now as I'm typing this that is a hard core chase. Its not that i dont like the bet..I do think it'll cover, but i know as well as anyone its not a good idea to bet on 4 different teams in one. I'll be logging back in around 12-1ish. We'll see were i stand, and move on from there.

Today was very unproductive. I made two big mistakes. First, the Campbell game, i had an opportunity to hedge my bet at halftime...i should have pulled the trigger. i had it pulled up on my phone. It just felt as though they were gonna continue to lose, but i didnt..i wouldve recoup $75 if i had...putting me at $165 ready to make a second bet. Instead i chase a 4 team teaser..which one of the four loses. Working out these sort of dumb moves is why i'm here. I have time and bankroll to figure it out. March officially starts tomorrow. I need $1204 to pay the bills..plus $100 to recoup the lose..So goal now is $1304. I will start again tomorrow. I wasnt sure if its relevant, and its doesnt necessarily matter to anyone. But to know when the end game is, i figure i'll just post it. I have $8,100 in my bankroll. I only play with $100 at a time until that initial100 brings in profit. Thats how i manage myself and my account. Now its managing the handicapping. Tomorrow will be tomorrow..but today i got my ass kicked
