Do away with the Last Place Prize?

If so, add that 10% onto 1st place to make prizes 60%, 25%, 15%?

Does anyone want to do away with 3rd place prize as well and make Prizes 70%, 30%?

Season Pool.

I don't think it's a great idea having to pony up 250 points at the start of the season for this.

We averaged just under 1500 points per race pool this year. 54000 points over the season.

Right now we have 4000 points in the season pool, or about 7.5% of total points wagered.


If we add an 8 point weekly entry fee we would end up with the same prize pool at season end.


Would this affect the number of people who would play weekly? Particularly toward season end?

Maybe leave the Last Place Prize in place just for the season pool?

Segment Pools.

Increase entry for each segment to make those pools larger?

We had 16, 14 and 14 in the 3 segments this year. The prize pool average is about 1450 points.

If we make it 250 each segment the prize pool would be around 3750

If we make it 350 the prize pool would be around 5250

I'd rather 1st, 2nd and 3rd place be rewarded and last place not get anything so I'm for bumping up the payouts for the top 3. As for season long, I'm willing to go along with whatever you guys decide but I'd probably be more willing to play for 8 points a week like you suggested than ponying up 250 points at the beginning of the season. As for the segment pools maybe make those pools larger so the payoff is bigger at the end of each segment.

Personally, I would be in favor of eliminating the last place prize everywhere.

As for the middle proposal, even if we keep last place prize for season, those in the middle of the pack would still have no incentive to keep anteing up the 8 points every week. Maybe divide the year-long payment in three parts payable at same time as three segments? Also leave open the option of pre-paying in full at any time.

And yes, I am in favor of raising segment fees.

The 250 could be eliminated if the real money contest stays the same otherwise I would say keep it. I think 250 is too high for segments but good for year end. It is hard to lose and put in weekly as it is and I am surprised as many participate in the segments as they do. That will be a lot to afford and you are going to do well weekly if you do well in the segment.



People do not participate at the end due to burn out and lack of points with football and nothing is going to change that.



I would get rid of third and last place in return for a higher payout for first and second. Third is pretty small. You need more than one winner weekly but three is too many. Otherwise, I would keep things the same

With a 1500 avg pot, 15% = 225, 25% = 375 and 60% = 900

If we just want money back for third 10% is enough. As all races but one have had over 1000 in the pool.
