    Hamilton is -176
    Vettle +350

Am I missing something? Vettle has a 20 point lead on Hamilton about halfway through the season. Is is that much of a given that Hamilton will ultimately overtake Vettle for the title or is Vettle a good bet at +350? Until very recently their odds had been within about 30 cents of each other.

20 points is less than a race win. So the lead itself isn't that significant with 11 races to go. But agree the value is with Vettel.

Also, the next four races all should suit Mercedes better than Ferrari as they are all high speed tracks. Silverstone, Hungary, Spa and Monza.

I would hang on a little , Hamilton coming to home track when he has won the last 3 or 4 if my memory serves me

Thanks guys. Don't follow it much at all like I do NASCAR but do really like to watch it. (Just wish tv coverage was better)

I've actually gone to several of the F1 races in Austin now since they built the track near my hometown. It's amazing to watch live.

One of my main rules in betting over the years is not to bet (game in a casino or a sport) on something I don't understand.

I figured even a small wager on the championship would get me to follow F1 closer and really try to learn the sport better this season. I didn't even realize you win 20 points for winning a race for some reason I thought it was 10 points, therefore I thought Vettle had a two-race lead in the standings built up.

I didn't realize that either. I though a 20-pt lead was a ton of pts in this series. I'm still in infancy of learning even the basics of F1 though so I'm not surprised by my ignorance. Lol
