    Nashville vs Florida 1/13/11

It seems like Florida just can't find ways to win hockey games this year and Nashville is playing red hot. The goal tending match up is pretty even with a slight edge going to the Preds. The defensive side of the puck goes to the Preds as they allow less goals and get slightly more points from their D. The forwards are a little more top heavy on the Panthers (who have 1 good line, really) but the more balanced attack belongs to Nashville.

Does anyone else like the Predators in this spot? I am seeing them at even money at my book. any thoughts or insight would be appreciated.

Vokoun is not starting for Florida. It will be backup Scott Clemenson

I like the preds a lot in this spot... Florida's backup is between the pipes tonight, the west have faired well against the east thus far and you are getting the better team at even money.

In my power rankings I have Nashville at 11 and Florida at 23. I was pretty surprised when the line came out and I am more surprised that it hasn't moved considering Vokoun isn't playing

The only thing that alarms me is that the Preds are on a lengthy win streak. That being said I'm still going with Nashville, they play and win close games. That conservative "trap" style of hockey they play is tough to solve.

They are effective at running the trap and Florida has a more top heavy offense which is why I feel the Preds will be able to shut down that line and win the game. If Florida's top line only gets 1 goal on the board, Nashville should come out victorious.

If the preds can get a lead on Clemenson and the Panthers, they should be able to lock down on the defensive side

Like preds too, but fla keep close games. Preds are red hot though.

Damn, two goals in the back half of the third and all of us Nashville backers get burned...

    Congrats Florida backers
