BIG news out of Vancouver ... Thatcher Demko will not play tonight and his status for the rest of the series is questionable. They are reporting its not the same injury what sidelined him for a month just before the end of the regular season. This sucks big time.
Can the Canucks still do it in game 2? Maybe. Probably. I will take the over instead.

Oilers looked amazing but the Kings didn't give up. I am leaning LA in Game 2. Not sure about tonight's NYR game. Ovechkin didn't register a shot on goal in Game 1 and they have to have him play better for them to make it a series. I am leaning Caps/ NYR over as well.

Demko's injury is heartbreaking if it's any length of time that he'll miss.

Casey DeSmith is pretty good. He has a very respectable career save percentage. His back-up tonight is Arturs Silovs who was named named IIHF World Championship MVP last year. https://www.espn.com/nhl/player/stats/_/id/3025540/casey-desmith.

Demko is a top 5 NHL goalie so its virtually impossible to replace him. Big chance for the Preds to even up the series heading to Nashville. Canucks need Miller and Petterrson to have a game. I think they will.
