    The Wild sign a 51-year-old goalie

    Niklas Backstrom is gone today for personal reasons and they couldn't fly in a goalie from their AHL team quick enough so they are using an assistant coach's buddy

    cool story for the guy.

    Paul Deutch is the guy's name.

    He only played JV hockey in high school and started playing goalie when he was 37

    Holy moly it would be funny to see this guy play

    only so much roster space and if you put your starting minder on waivers, chances are he won't clear them, so they just bring in an emergency goalie and put a healty scratch on waivers and resign him
