    Arbing/Middling at the Same Sportsbook

What do sportsbooks feel about this?

Say Friday, you bet a favorite for a Saturday college football game at -150. Then on Saturday you take them at +160.

What about betting an Nfl team at -2.5 -105 and later betting +3 -105.

it's just bad behavior by the player. You should be in multiple books anyway...

Bad behavior? The first bet wasn't made with the intention to arb or middle. The sportsbook should generally be happy when the second bet is made. It is also common for many players to lock in a profit by betting halftime lines and sportsbooks don't get upset. The halftime bet is -ev.

Why do you ask for peoples opinions if you've already made up your mind. Yes it is generally considered awful to do this except from pinnacle afaik and betting exchanges.

Most books don't like it. It doesn't matter what you think it matters what they think.

I hadn't already made up my mind. Calling it "bad behavior" is dumb regardless of what sportsbooks feel about it.

It totally depends on the book. In general, pro books are tolerant of it (Pinnacle probably even encourages it). Rec books generally don't like it and you will draw varying levels of heat for doing so. Unfortunately, you won't know for sure how a book will respond until you try.

An exchange doesn't care..... I have done it..... and if you don't make a habit of it nothing will happen. I received a warning from 2 books regarding it...... one claimed I still had a roll over to complete (not true) and the other said if I do it again they will limit me...... If you are completing a roll over they will f you over......

If you are betting $15/$10 and then arbing at $10/$16, probably not a big deal.

If you are betting $1500/$1000 and then arbing $1000/$1600, they will probably get mad.

Can you give a couple examples of the sports your doing this in. I knew the juice was low but i didnt realize there was constant scalps their. excuse if I sound a little naive, im not very familiar with the exchanges. Are you doing it by putting in your own bids, or just playing off of others? thx

Two days before the Den/Jax game my Jax -125 moneyline offer was accepted. I bet enough to win $1500. On game day I had the option of taking Denver +170.

In MLB, you just look for line movements. More times than not I am on the side that moves in my favor. I'll buy back some on the other team or just scalp out and take a guaranteed profit.
